With or With out...

By Harrison 1976 Posted in: Blazers, LaMarcusAldridge
Hello Blazer fans, I myself have been a huge Blazer fan since i was knee high to a ... well lets just say my first real heart break was when the "Bad Boys" of Detroit came into Portland in the Finals and handed us a nice bowl of  Ray Charles classic "Hit the road Jack". I remember hearing that song on a televison station later on following Detroit coming into the Memorial Colisuem and taking the NBA title back to Piston nation. I was only 14 at the time, I was playing basketball myself in the city basketball courts and after school in the high school gymnasium. I often tried to immitate my favorite player Clyde "The Glide" Drexler which i always found hard because i could not finger roll to save my life, so i just stuck to jump shots.
Now being a die hard Blazer fan like I am, I have, like all of you experienced tons of moments of excitement and thrilling games. From that Detroit disappointment, to the Chicago Bulls finals showdown, to the Blazers getting robbed in the Western Finals in 2000 against the Lakers... Dont get me going on that..Ugh, and to the change of the torch from generation to generation which included Rasheed Wallace, Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldrige and more. Now we have not landed no NBA title since i was... well since i was born!
I believe those time will be changing soon, most likely wont be this year or even the next but i feel with the teams changing of the guard and new managment and also that this organization just cant possibly have any more BAD LUCK, Four years ago we started heading in what we all thought would become all the things we all want... We landed Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldrige... Then landed Greg Oden...  the stars were finally aligning for this team... well we all know how that has turned out. But, i think with these new young players we have drafted and brought from over seas, things can get back to that same excitment level we all once enjoyed!
With or With Out Nic Batum, The Trailblazers have started to build again a good nuclius of young players and added a few older and experienced players to help with the growth and experience of the new guys. This team will gel, i can feel it.
Well, this is my first blog entry in a long while, i am looking forward to meeting and getting to know you fellow Blazer fans and reading your outlook and inputs on this team.

  3. Thanks for sharing! I also trace my Trail Blazers fandom back to the early 90s. It was Terry Porter draining threes that hooked me :)

    Look forward to more.

  4. The teams that captavated most of Blazer nation i believe were those late 80's early 90's teams... I mean they were just so "Connected" if you will. I mean you had Clyde, Terry in the back court... Buck and Jerome along with The Duck on the front... all the role players... i remember Tracy Murray, Drazen, Uncle Cliffy, Cooper... man they were just a TEAM... period. I cant remember ever missing a game in person or on TV. Now with the crap TV deals, not as fortunate to be able to watch all the games.
