Shouldn't Lillard have a guy that's been in the league to learn from, I think so too. Baron Davis can fill the void.

I agree that Damian Lillard should have the starting job, but I don't think he can just jump in and know what being a starting point in the nba is like right off the bat. Baron Davis was a great point guard in his prime, especially with all those steals he got. He knows what it's like to be in the playoffs, he lead an 8 seed past the mavericks, now that's pretty impressive. Davis knows what it's like to be on a rebuilding team as well, and I think he can give Portland valuable minutes off the bench, and mentor Lillard. I think it'd be good for Lillard to grow as a pro if he learned from a guy who's been through a lot.

  1. Hes injured. Baron Davis never seemed to be the wise mentor guy to me. Who knows tho....

  2. Baron Davis completely destroyed his knee, He tore almost everything there is to tear in a knee. He will probably have to retire after the injury :/

  3. Baron Davis was a balla..but unfortunately he's always been viewed as selfish, and a man with a low work ethic. The the idea of having a mentor is great. But we already have vets in Aldridge and Mathews for him to learn the game from. A veteran point guard is not necessary. Case in point, Rajon Rondo. The guy had vets like Garnett and Paul Pierce to lean on and learn from. Rondo turned out just fine.
