at the end of the trade..

By Lani Davidson Shafer
I was as upset as most when the news of the trades came out. Why?? Why me it seemed everyone was saying. Why get rid of my favorite player? Why break up the team? While others were saying that it was about damn time.
The saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Well, unfortunately, we were broke. We needed to be fixed. We were not playing up to our potential. We as fans think of the team, as ours. We shout at the t.v., at the refs, at the coach and the players to rebound or make the shot. All these things to make you, the blazers, ours. So, I took it personally that Camby was traded. He was "mine". :(
Although I don't and didn't agree with some of the moves, it was time. We needed a shake up to waken ourselves up, pull us together and rise up!!!! Rise up to our potential and be the team, we as fans, know you and we are. Now, if only Camby can come back. :)  Hey, it could happen, my Przybilla came back!
Blazers are a family and it is hard to see a member of our family go, but although change is hard, it can be good. I have faith and perseverance that our family of blazers will get through this and rise to this challenge before us to  make us stronger.

  1. I think the biggest problem was trading for Felton, giving up Miller, and obviously giving up Faried in the deal and taking Smith.
