What was he thinking?

By DustyGeo Posted in: Bobcats, geraldwallace

Michael Jordan’s trade to Portland of Gerald Wallace has helped the team weather the past few weeks. While I was initially skeptical of the trade, l love me some Przybilla, Wallace’s scrappy basketball has won over my heart. With the news from today that Joel is out of Charlotte for the rest of the season.  Is MJ two moves ahead of everyone else or just terrible at making basketball trades?

While on the subject of Wally, what was Nate and the trainers thinking? Is Gerald Wallace with his history of concussions really a good idea to be playing on through the second half? Multiple Concussions Do we have no one else on the basketball team to play? I’m no doctor, but to state the obvious, the man did look quite a bit glossy eyed- a little out of it. I consistently do NOT understand why Blazer management insist on playing injured basketball players. I KNOW they want to be out there and it’s a business transaction.  The Blazers play lots of money for the players to play- not sit on the sidelines (though they don’t seem to much care if they are rookies, but that’s a whole different topic).  But really, and not just in the case of Wallace, if they are just going to get more injured couldn’t they just rest them for a minute? Sigh.

  1. I agree if you can't depend on Nicolas to give you production at SF when G. Wallace is out trade Nicolas while every team in the league has him over-priced, in a package deal with Brandon Roy in order to get out from under his gigantic contract that will not see the fruit that I don't know who saw considering management knew of his bad knees and pending surgeries before they signed the monster contract in the first place.... Is this why a certain GM was fired? I wonder! I HOPE THE BLAZERS PROVE ME WRONG BUT I JUST DON"T SEE IT THIS SEASON WITH ALL THE UP AND DOWN AND INCONSISTENCY ON THE FLOOR ESPECIALLY WITH LAMARCUS PLAYING OUT OF POSITION AT CENTER AND GERALD ALSO AT POWER FORWARD. Move Nicolas to Center and see if he can play there.

  2. Nicholas to center is never going to happen because he's a small forward...The roster and available players for the blazers has changed almost more than any other team in the league on a game to game basis. Chemistry is completely underrated and blazers are just a perfect example of it. The Celtics and Spurs individually have good players, but together the conference champions. Give the blazers some time.

  3. During the off-season, the Blazers need to waive Marcus Camby. No offense, I like him, but he gets injured a lot. They need to draft/sign a consistent center who won't be injured as often to play when Greg isn't hurt.
