KP, McMillan, Mr. Allen...I'm Calling You Out

By RipCityRevival
Now I'm not going to question whether you have done a tremendous job here with the Blazers, because I certainly think you have; however, I do have one glaring question that doesn't seem to get a straight answer.
What assets do we really have overseas?

Koponen, Freeland, Claver. PG, PF/C, SF/PF. Talented? Tradable? Ever going to see a day in the NBA? Koponen and Freeland were drafted the same year as Brandon Roy and Aldridge yet Koponen has only seen a few summer league minutes and Freeland has yet to even see that. Both participated in the Eurobasket playing for their respective home countries and have improved some since being drafted.

Claver was drafted in the first round by the Blazers, yet Mills, Pendergraph, and Cunningham (all drafted later) have seen time in a uniform this year while he sits over with Valencia. Last offseason We had the opportunity to relinquish the rights to two of these players, but management didn't want to do that. So, what is it that we really have stashed over seas? Will these guys ever wear a Blazer uniform, or are we going to continue to draft players better than them and have them throw away their careers overseas?

How good are these guys? Who would you compare them to? What are the chances we see them atleast in Summer Leagues this offseason? I've been itching to know for four years now and would like to finally see what we have. There isn't enough knowledge of these guys for the radio analysts to speak much on them, so what is the real case? Inquiring Blazer minds NEED to know!

I continue to try and look up video on You Tube, but all the video is from three years ago. What is the real deal? I need someone on the inside to fill the rest of Rip City in on what the real breakdown is of these players we have wasting away in Europe. Please give us something! I would love a Casey Holdahl video interview with KP on nothing but these three players we have stashed away. Please Please PLEASE, let us in the circle.

  1. Welcome Back! I'm not 100% certain, but I think the reason we took Claver last year in the 1st was so he wouldn't count against the cap once the season started, just to give us a little more flexibility and at the time with Joel, Greg, Travis, and Blake, + a new free agent, etc we had a stacked team so it made more sense to stash another player overseas.
