Let The Good Times Roll: A Fun Roundup From A Wild And Crazy Game
By sarahhecht Posted in: Mavericks
You can’t quit on this team, because they won’t quit on you.
LaMarcus Aldridge and company proved again tonight—for what seems like the zillionth time—that resilience is a key component to this Trail Blazers team as they crushed a 21-point deficit to beat the Mavs, 106-104, at the Rose Garden.
This was one of those incredibly exhilarating games where your mind gets kind of fuzzy with all the great things that happen, so that’s why I’m here to remind you of all the good stuff. You're welcome.
There was this, obviously. Game-winner, buzzer-beater, team dog pile, awesome.
And a few seconds before there was this. Sweet shot LaMarcus.
For those of you doing the math, that’s five points in 4.9 seconds. Anyone else having flashbacks to the San Antonio game a couple years back?
Then there were the photos. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but a few of these leave me speechless:
75+ photos of glory.
Except this one, there’s lots to say about this one. Seriously, look at Ronnie’s face, Will’s mouth, what is Luke doing and this kind of looks like a tickle fight. Fun for all.
How about some quotes? Those are always fun.
“Just another win. [Laughs].” -Terry Stotts. This guy is a hoot, plain and simple.
“I saw it on film – I didn’t think I did it like that, I thought I caught it and took a dribble but I didn’t. I caught it and all in one motion just shot it. I just felt good about it, I just shot it. It felt good. I thought everybody was overly hyped for it, but I was like the game isn’t over yet. But it feels good.” -Aldridge on his game-tying three
“I was surprised that Nic threw it to me, yes. That I made it, no.” -Aldridge on the three. Also, reread that quote as if LA’s trying not to crack up, because that’s how it went down.
“He was smiling like a rookie, like his first NBA game. He was happy, but it was a big shot by LA. We needed those two shots – they show people that he really is an All-Star. He is an All-Star. He is a go-to guy, he’s one of the best.” -Nicolas Batum on Aldridge in the locker room
And finally, the tweet of the night.
