On The Clock With Coach Terry Stotts

By DHawes22 Posted in: Blazers, terrystotts
This past Media Day, I was fortunate enough to be able to sit down and interview the Trail Blazers and Head Coach Terry Stotts ... But these aren't your average, run-of-the-mill basketball questions. Without further ado, here is the first installment of "On The Clock" with the aforementioned Terry Stotts.

If your house caught on fire and you could only save three things, what would they be?

Coach Terry Stotts: My wife, dogs, and Direct TV DVR

Speaking of the DVR, what are the shows you currently can't miss?

TS: Boardwalk Empire, Damages, and Newsroom

Will we see you in a leisure suit on the sidelines this season?

TS: If there's a 70's night, there's always a chance.

If you could coach any other sport, what would it be?

TS:Unknown (Ed Note:This question stumped Coach. He spent a while thinking about it, but said he wasn't passionate about any other spot other than basketball.)

If you didn’t attend Oklahoma to play college basketball, which school would you have chosen?

TS: Purdue Or South Carolina

Down by two with five seconds left to play on the road, do you go for the tie or the three for the win?

TS: Best Shot Available

What is your favorite movie?

TS: It's hard to choose just one, but a few of my favorites are The Godfather 1 & 2 and The Color Purple.

Who would you cast to portray you in a major motion picture?

TS: Kevin Costner

What was your favorite cartoon as a kid?

TS: Looney Tunes, Buggs, Daffy, Yosemite...All those guys

What was your first car?

TS: A 1967 Chevy Impala, white with real rust trim

What is your least favorite food?

TS: Brussel Sprouts

The one food item your Thanksgiving dinner must have is…?

TS: Cranberry Sauce (Ed Note: Coach said that of course every Thanksgiving dinner has to have turkey, but outside of that it's cranberry sauce. For his family, Thanksgiving dinner is traditional. Christmas dinner is when they experiment with different main entree's.)

Who do you have winning the Super Bowl?

TS: Houston Texans

What is your favorite thing about the city of Portland so far?

TS: The weather, it's been awesome so far. (Ed Note: This question was asked during the string of sunny days, not sure if Coach would give the same answer if he looked outside his window.)

What’s currently on your iPod?

TS: Satellite radio, Pandora, 70's and 80's R&B

If you weren’t coaching the Trail Blazers on Halloween Night, you would have dress up as…?

TS: I'd be handing out candy to the tirck-or-treaters, but I could always go with that leisure suit or maybe a ghoul.

  2. What a sweet first car. And PLEASE Blazer Brass, make a 70's night so we can see Stotts bust out the leisure suit! Heck we could have the players wear the 1970's uniform (minus the short shorts, lets leave those long).

  3. Agreed, 70's AND 80's nights need to happen this season! But I disagree with you on one point, bring back the short shorts, if only for one night!
