I'm not a fan of overpaying for over the hill pt guards like Kidd..the DUI king who has Raymond Felton starting over him right now...We have a great mentor for Lillard....Ronnie Price! Lillard has played 3 NBA games in his life and seems to take half a game to get in stride so far. Since Stotts coached Kidd to a championship, I think we have that mentor already. Jerry Sloan coached Ronnie and Ronnie backed up Deron Williams and Steve Nash before coming here. I do agree about the lack of assists though. Rebounding too. Our ball passing has been an issue since Andre Miller left and to me..Dre is the best mentor in the league right now.
Kidd was just a suggestion but I think Miller would be better. The problem with Miller is that I feel management burned the bridge with him when he was sent to Denver.
Ronnie Price played behind several players in his career but that does not make him the type of mentor that a long time starter would be. I have nothing against R.P. but I would have liked to see a more experienced mentor not someone who can tell him how to ride the pine and not be a starter.
