Nuggets Pick-up

By mbmurr1 Posted in: Lakers, Magic, Nuggets, Sixers
They got Andre Igoudala but they gave up Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, a 2014 1st round pick either theirs or New Yorks, and a 2nd rounder in 2013. Iggy is a great pick-up but I don't feel they got topĀ  value for what they gave up. Perhaps they were looking to clear a roster spot in the 2 for 1 player exchange which is a positive. They did need to get rid of players at both positions as they are over loaded, and if they make the playoffs (they should) the first rounder will be upper twenties and the second rounder should be in the fifties. What are your thoughts?

  1. If things turn out for them the trade will be a good one but one injury and they are in the lottery and the trade is very bad.

  2. They are going to be a monster team next year. I can see them getting 3-4 range in the playoffs. They have Iggy and Wilson Chandler coming off the bench! Uggg hate them right now. Instead of them , I wish it was us giving up Matthews and Claver and us getting Iggy. But i wouldn't want us helping Dhoward in LA.

  3. I would have traded those two also but their salary numbers don't match up. We would have needed to trade more and we just don't have it at the moment.
All of our trade-able players other then L.A. 14+mil or Matthews 6+mil are under 1.5mil per year. Next year we will have great trading power, that is why I wish we would have signed JJ to a 3+ year deal.

  4. I'm hoping we sweep the Nuggets this season. Yeah, great team but I'm not selling our team short until I've seen them play. We have until mid January to move players and by then will have a clear picture of how team chemistry is developing. I want Mathews in Portland. He does intangible things that score first guys ignore. We have no idea how Claver's game will pan out in the NBA. Not many teams have true centers these days and those who do are slower teams, half court teams. We have the opportunity to run them ragged if our bench is as good as I think it will be. Freeland played well against Nene in the Olympics. What we really need is great passing and rebounding. I look for Batum to step up in the rebounding category and LA as well.

  5. Denver won this trade. Harrington was owed for 3 more years and Afflalo 4 more. Iggy now makes Denver a Top 4 team out West in my opinion. Lawson, Iggy, Gallo, Faried, McGee...this team is on the rise.
