Leonard and Lillard

By mbmurr1 Posted in: Blazers
In the first game of the summer season Leonard looked fantastic, shooting 3-4 for 14 points and 8-10 from the line. He also had 11 boards and 3 blocks. On the bad side he committed several rookie fouls but I think with the learning curve these early fouls are to be expected. Lillard had an above average game for a rookie PG. His shot was off for the most part going 7-21 from the field but he did have 4 rebound and 4 assists. We will see how things pan out over the next few weeks but the young players are looking good so far.

  1. Yeah both rookies looked good. Leonard only had 4 field goal attempts and had 14 points. Lillard exploded in the second shooting 7-11 in the second half, scored 21 points. Really excited to see them in a real game!

  2. I'm happy with how both Lillard and Leonard played, especially with the pick and roll together. Yes Leonard did make some rookie fouls, but he showed a lot of hustle, and went from offence to defence quickly. He was also smiling a lot on the court and showed that he wanted to be there. I was also impressed with the way Lillard showed some determination and turned things around significantly in the second half.
