Final Blog Contest: Looking Forward to the Off-Season, What’s Your Wish List?

By sarahhecht
Welcome to the fourth and final blog contest!

Last year we launched the Trail Blazers Bloggers Network. Since then, many of you fans have engaged in sharing and discussing your passion for and ideas about the team. You are incredibly talented bloggers and write engaging, though-provoking, funny and moving stories. Here at the Bloggers Network we’ve taken notice.

To thank you all for your dedication we’ve designed a blog contest to give you the opportunity to win access to the ultimate source of writing ideas: the players.

You write, we read, you can win.

Here’s how it works. We’ve chosen a topic for you to write about, you can take it in ANY direction you want, be creative! In one week we’ll take a look at all the entries and select the best one to be featured on the homepage AND to win media credentials to a game.

What does it mean to have media credentials, you ask? It means you will get to watch the Trail Blazers warm-up from the floor at the Rose Garden before the arena opens, listen to Kaleb Canales’ pre-game chat, watch the game from media row AND get to interview the players post-game in the locker room. It’s a pretty big deal.

After the experience you’ll undoubtedly have oodles to write about!

  1. Hey Miss Sarah: I can't be at home games dagnabbit. So I won't be entering the contest.
Nevertheless my wish list for the off season is still valid.
    1. I wish that Chad would get a permanent GM jog with Portland. He is doing a terrific job, he communicates with Paul Allen well from what I read, he loves the Blazers, he has a great scouting resumè; He is dynamic; He seems to get along with other GM's and I like him.

    2. At least give coach Kaleb, a chance with a one year contract, to have a full year to show what he can do. I don't know that much about him, but the players loves him, plays hard for him and doesn't give up. He gives the new Kids on the team more then a second to show off their wares, and lets the players develop their own Niche. I am not comparing him with anybody else, good or bad, just that all coaches has to start somewhere. He already has the players trust, he is energetic and dedicated.

3.Go after Daran Williams or somebody that is close as possible, in giving us what Daran could bring us.

    4. Sign Jonny Flynn to a contract as a back-up PG for now, and a great PGofTF, or a great asset for future trades. Sign JJ Hickson to a contract. Let Felton go, as I feel he will divide the fans, and the fans are the one that pays the salary.
Keep Elliot Williams as SG with Matthews, that means trading or dropping Crawford. Further develop Babbitt and Batum at the 3; We will have JJ and LMA at the 4, and that leaves, us bringing over Joe Freeland with Joel as a back-up for center, in which we have LMA and or JJ that can be center when going small. Keep Thabeet as a project for a future Center with the coaching staff to train him.

That is a pretty big wish list, but one that will give us a chance for some exciting finishes.

  2. I've done a lot of blogging before, but never about one of my big loves, the Blazers! This contest is a great jumping off point for me to regularly write blogs on the Blazers site! Good luck to everyone!
