Building With Habitat for Humanity

By Veronica Posted in: blazerdancers, veronica

Late this summer I got the chance to be part of a Habitat for Humanity build with Wells Fargo and the Trailblazers. I won't lie and say I am a master carpenter but I have always wanted to build something. Like many of the 100 plus volunteers, that was our first experience working on a construction site. The weather was lovely and the spirit among our group was so uplifting the aches and pains were well worth it. I love that Habitat for Humanity continues to bridge our economic gaps by providing more the 400,000 decent, safe and affordable new or rehabilitated homes all over the world.

  1. A little more work and a little less posing and 400001 would make 1 more family happy... Just kidding. Great job.

  2. No one can build an entire house in 9 hours with inexperienced crew and I believe we partnered to build 8 homes in that area so more than 1 family will benefit I promise :0) One of our supervisors said that most houses are built by multiple crews with different purposes. Ours was to build the foundation and basic frame work for the homes and we got two up and running that day. Our trades men and women are a very talented group in our communities.
