The Highs and Lows of One Blazer Fan

By blazerdarren77
Game 6 is upon us. The Blazers need to win in order to play at least one more game. If not, the cold, hard reality will hit us all; no more Blazer basketball. For many of us, that will be a major downer. Basketball will not be as exciting to watch. Blazermania depression will hit us. And sadly, we might not even see a full season as the NBA will be in an off-season labor dispute. That could end up in a lockout and the 2011-12 season could be in jeopardy. Talk about a double whammy.

How are we to handle this uncertainty? What am I supposed to do? Spend quality time with my wife and kids? Yuck! Watch baseball? Why? My Mariners are already irrelevant and they're only a month into the season! Outdoor activities? Riiiight! Too many state park/campground fees kill the fun in that. I want get excited for the football season, but with the NFL at odds with their labor issue, I'm having a hard time with it. The NFL Draft is on at the same time as the game, and it doesn't matter to me. It must be a combination of being so into the Blazers and fed up with the player-owner squabble. At least there's the college football to fall on, but that's still 4 months away.

This why this game is very important. Win and the Blazers will make us happy once again, for at least one more game.
