  Again the NBA has conspired to ruin our team. This time they  have stooped to another low; our beloved Blazer dancers. As most of you know, each NBA team is represented by a dance squad. In the spirit of March Madness, nba.com has put up a dancer bracket to allow the fans to vote for their favorite squad tournament style. The bracket is divided according to conference. In the end, the winner of the Eastern Conference will go against the winner of the Western Conference.

  Here's the problem, as most of you know; the Blazer dancers' opening round opponent is the Laker girls. How does the NBA seed these teams? Since there are only 15 teams in each conference, one team from each conference gets an opening round bye. How do they figure that out? Did they draw straws? pick at random? In the East, it's the Lady Cats (Charlotte) Really? In the West, it's the Suns' dancers (Phoenix) Seriously? You think that they would put the most popular team dancers from each conference in the second round. To me, that would be the Lakers for the west. The east? You could make cases for the Bulls, Heat, Celtics, so you're better off picking at random there.

  As for the opening round, you would think that they would give certain teams favorable matches, but no. A lot of these opening round matches are more suited for second or third round tilts. For example, in the east, the Heat and the Celtic dancers go head-to-head. In the west, not only are our Blazers gals taking on the Lakers girls, but the Thunder dancers are against the lady Spurs. Again, these matches should be for the second round or later.

  Why NBA? Just why do you have to ruin it for even the dancers? Especially our Blazer dancers. We know how much you don't want to see the team succeed, but don't make our lovely ladies suffer as well. These girls are just doing their job; cheering on their team and entertaining the crowd. They do it because they love their team. Don't take that away from them. Let them flourish. They're a great group of gals. Give them their due. You'll be amazed at what they can do.
