Big win over the Wiz last night. Mike Barrett recaps in stellar fashion, as usual, in Wallace Takes The Lead.

In one of the best stories I've read all season long, Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated shares an emotional look at the personal story of LaMarcus Aldridge. From his days in high school to his mom's battle with cancer Aldridge is the rock in his family and shows You Can Count On Him.

  2. The SI story tells the transformation of LA during the summer of 2010, when reading the story about his mother, and LA having to become the leader of his family after learning of his mothers Cancer. Then returning to the Blazers and becoming the "Leader" of the team after all of the injuries to his teammates. Watching this man go through his transformation has been nothing short of Amazing.......this proves that Character does Matter!!! LaMarcus is the kind of person that people will want to emulate, Work hard , take care of family.

  4. Just read the SI story - LA is even more of a stud. It's so great to know that we have a guy like that on our team. I can somewhat relate - as my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2001 and succumbed within two months - so I had to be as strong as I could for my mom's sake.
Though he is still young, this will give LA lots of character and I would hope, as for myself, to be a more compassionate human being. Though it's difficult, it's a chance to become stronger, especially for the long-term. I wish him and his mom the very best and hope that he is a Blazer for life.
