Lesser Known Trades

With the trade deadline just hours away at the time of this writing, we've already seen many big trades. Denver, New York, Utah and New Jersey have been involved in made major deals.

What's been missed in all the major trade headlines are several minor deals which have been engineered.

So, how about a recap:

* Philadephia traded a cheesesteak sandwich to the Clippers for an enchilada, and a taco coupon which expires on the day of the draft.



* The Kings traded their town to the Hornets for their queen.

* Sacramento also traded Arnold Schwarzenegger to the New York for the secret to what a "knickerbocker" really is.

* New York turned around and traded a polish sausage to the Lakers for a burrito.

* Miami traded some heat with Phoenix for some sun (reportedly, it was a straight swap).

* The Raptors and Hawks traded mascots.

* Chicago traded a cello to the Jazz for a saxophone.

* The Bulls also traded one of its horns to the Bucks for a small set of antlers.

* The Wizards traded a wand to the Magic for rights to the word "presto!"

* Detroit and Cleveland had some sreious trade discusions before realizing neither had anything the other wanted.

* The Grizzlies traded a pair of Rudy Gay's shoelaces to the Spurs for one of Gregg Poppovich's used pen caps.

* And finally, the Blazers were involved in a trade as Dallas traded a cowboy hat for one of Nicolas Batum's berets.

I truly believe the trade rumors have gone on much too long. I'm sure I speak for those reading this when I urge the NBA to come up with some improvments. If it doesn't, I might be forced to make another list next year.

  2. LOL. Very satirical w/lots of research; nice dyspeptic sense of humor.

    LAC and NYK have reached an agreement with LA sending an orange to NY for an apple. Memphis ships Elvis to Detroit in return for Berry Gordy.

    *Blazers ship Luke Babbit to PHX for their most innovative, salubrious, and therapeutic nutrition guide (the deal includes a comfortable reclining chair, massage therapist, and pilates/yoga instructor)

    *Gosh we hope this happens.
