blazer chat and freindships i have made

By oregongal47 view (TG)
I posted a similar blog under my other sn that I cant access on here so I will try to re write the blog...

Last fall around the start of pre season I discovered via fb a blazer chat link so I clicked on it wondering what in the world is this about and so i dived in on chat and found a great bunch of people the very first day and it was so much fun that I kept going back for more and soon I made some female friends who were probaby more avid fans then me.  As time went on I learned some of their stories and their lives and they learned about me as well.

About 9 days ago I got the chance to go to a game with a fellow chatter and comcast refugee.  I had never met her in person but I knew this we had the love of the blazers in common and as she has nick named a certain age group us vintage ladies of basketball or vintage basketball fans (vintage her def anything fifty and older).  I hated that term at first and thought vintage I am not ready for that but then she explained it further as not being old and antique was a bad word. so I look at vintage as being like a nicely aged fine wine. anyhow she had never been to a nba game so i was excited for her and I had been but i had been since start of jailblazers i last went.  The day came we met up and man we hit it off great (I was scared what if we cant stand each other); nope that was not true.  some of you might think this was nuts to go to a game wtih someone you had not met in person but I felt like we knew enough about each other as we are regulars in chat and have been talking since oct...and also I was careful to meet her at a public place etc.  About two years ago I would have never done anything so crazy as go to a game with somone i had not or gone on a chat and started yacking up with people I never knew but getting fit and losing fifty pounds gave me confidence in life to take chances.  I am so glad I did this as I had a blast at the clippers game and we found ourselves getting into great mischief.  we had dinner together, tackled the fan shop pre game what a zoo and chaos that is but so fun. and then having fun in our seats looking at all going around us and sharing binoculars and then we got the chance to meet sarah (one of the moderators in chat) and shalamar.  I will never forget the game and the experience. If i had never taken a chance I would have missed out on the blessing of meeing this wonderul lady and the other great ladies and guys in chat.

The blazer chat is important to me as it has finally given me the chance to talk with other female fans who are avid blazer fans and sports fans. I am a boomer and back in my day it was so no acceptable or understood for a girl to be into sports.  You either kept it to  yourself or you dared to do it but you only had guy friends to chat about it and sometimes they misunderstood you and would get mad when you would know more then them.  I love the fact I have this outlet and have had a chance to know other women who are into the blazers and that we get to share our lives.  the funny thing is now a lot of us are on twitter having a ball.  I would have never dreamed an nba team would draw so many of us together from all walks of lives and give us friendships that we would not have made otherwise.   I think that ability to be freinds so fast is part of what makes portland portland and that yes the best fans around are in portland or livng elsewhere.

I want to say thank you portland trailblazers for bringing us fans together and providing us chat.  and to those who have tried it dive in it is fun.  we always welcome anyone and the more the merrier.

ty my freinds on chat  i love you all

  1. the chat is fun; i've met a lot of really great people. except for a few trolls, it's great to talk and cheer through the chat ... now if we could just get it to stop refreshing!

  3. This is a wonderful story oregongal47. I was new to the chat last fall also. Even now, after chatting through half the season, I'm still amazed at what a great atmosphere the live chat provides.

  5. The organization should be commended for being proactive re: the interactive! It's a natural development for a team with such a devoted fan-base (many of whom can't follow their team in any other way). Despite the overwhelming intensity of PDX fans, this community is FAR less acrimonious than many others online. Kudos to both fans and staff!

Plus, nice pic of Oregongal47's #8 boob. ;-)
