good news for LaMarcus

By Kassandra
as if we needed another injury problem, we got a reprieve today.

an MRI on LaMarcus. hip was negative for cartilage and tendon damage to his hip. he does have a hip contusion, but this is actually good news. the last thing we needed was for our best player to go down to injury.

hopefully, the team takes heed of this news and lowers his minutes. he can't keep playing the 40-plus minutes he's been playing lately and expect to hold up for the entire season, in addition to a playoff series.

as of this afternoon, LaMarcus is listed as probable for thursday night's game against boston at the rose garden.

  1. the reason he keeps getting 40+ minute games is because no other big man available can step up. Joel sure isn't offense minded plus he's still limited in the number of minutes he can help out; Dante shows signs of promise but he's inconsistent; Sean can only give mop up time and is used sparingly. We have shooters, but they go in major slumps and it comes in bunches. All this said, LA is the only guy we have that can deliver on nightly basis, so the coaches have no other choice but to log heavy minutes for him.

  2. Hopefully Chris will be productive, a great addition, and give the other bigs a few minutes rest. GO BLAZERS !!!!!!!!!
