all right, i'll be the first to admit that i was nervous when sacramento held a seven-point lead with about six minutes left in last night's game. then, i saw our blazers go on a 7-0 run to tie it. at that point, i once again became confident we would win.

it didn't come easy though. as we tripped down to the wire with LaMarcus' last shot which could have won it in regulation, i was really hoping it wouldn't come to overtime. however, my hopes were not realized. it took 53 minutes to beat a scrappy kings team who deserve much credit for its play last night.

the blazers earned their first overtime win of the season, and sacramento fell to 0-3 in extra-period games.

of course, the biggest drawback to overtime is that our guys needed to play extended minutes. LaMarcus played 46, Nicolas 43 and Andre 42. the real concern is that it's on the first end of a back-to-back situation. you just hope these guys have some more in the tank for tonight's game at the rose garden against the clippers.

Joel also played more minutes than usual or planned -- 29 -- and came through with 11 rebounds and a block. i don't think that's a bad thing. he's healthy enough to be on the floor and more minutes are only going to help him get back into the flow of things. Rudy had a very good shooting night, hitting 5-10 of his shots with 3-7 of those coming behind the arc.

so, the guys are probably tired, but we've got a tough one tonight. i hope they can play hard and pick up the home win.
