Could this all really been better for the Blazers?

By David Harrison
So, the Blazers go on the road and nearly get a 3-0 trip, which easily should have happened. There confidence is growing as lamarcus Aldrige grows right before all our eyes. So in saying all this, does any of this ever happen if roy and Oden dont go down for the season. Now Brandon Roy has not said he is done for the year but it feels as if that could be the final outcome. So, in the past it seems as if the Blazers get loaded with talent and end up betting the farm on 1 or even 2 players at times and end up trading away or just not resigning players who end up leaving and going to some other team and becoming not exactly Super stars but all stars and excellant role players on other teams... even end up winning championships!!!

Could it be by shear bad luck that finally the Blazers are not forced into moving players or trading away possible pieces and now must use what they have which is a team most thought earlier without Oden and Roy needed some huge trade and or some Big name signed. But why, who is to say that the players we have couldnt become the next Super star in the league? Our talent level is as good as any other team if not deeper and im not talking iut of my backside...it is showing up now night after night. MIAMI is in town next... Win or lose Portland will be talked about after this game and so will LA and Batum, Patty, Wesley, Marcus, Rudy, Andre, Joel and all the Blazers as a team who seemily lost all the cards in the deck...but now, could this be the opprotunity The organization needed to see how to develope your players together and never put bet farm on one individual... there are 15 guys who make this a team...no 1 man could do it alone!

Remember the 1991 - 1992 team... Clyde.Terry,Jerome,Buck and The duck... small market team scaring the crap out of the big market NBA...That was a TEAM... and i have that feeling about our Blazer team now! Go get em' guys!

  2. I hear you. I ask myself similar questions.

It's wonderful to have a playmaker, a closer, a go-to guy, especially in that grueling 4th quarter. Only natural to build a team around one or two such individuals. And yet...

It's disquieting when people talk about LaMarcus as a sort-of "heir apparent" to Brandon Roy. Yes, he's clearly All-Star material. He has most definitely stepped up and more than met expectations.

But so has everybody on the team. It says "plays well with others" on each report card. That has got to be a good thing.

  3. Imagine if Andre was gone or they decided on someone other than Patty Mills to take up the final roster spot...team would be even more different...All im saying is things do happen for a reason at times...Finally it might have fallen in the right direction this time for Portland.
