thankful

last night i joined my family in watching the blazers drop only the third christmas day game in their history, and i was thankful. don't get me wrong, i hate to see my blazers lose, and it was a very exciting game ... almost too exciting.

just five days before christmas, my dad was rushed to the hospital with heart attack-like symptoms. after a minor procedure, some rest and instruction, he came home from the hospital on thursday.

we made christmas as normal at my house as possible, and it was a wonderful christmas. i am thankful that i am so close to my dad and i was able to share it with him, rather than in a hospital room ... or even worse.

there will be other games, but there will never be another dad.

  3. well said there; since my dad passed,going to a blazer game hasen't been the same for me, but i take comfort in passing these experiences to by 2 boys, something my dad would want me to do.
