maybe we should play all games on tuesdays

as myself and others were chatting on the trail blazers site during last week's home victory over phoenix, someone said something which has rattled around in my head. rattled around enough that i decided to do a little research. through 25 games, the blazers post a record of 12-13. though, that's not the research about which i was speaking.

portland has a record of 5-1 when playing games on tuesdays (7-12 on the other days of the week, combined). by far, that's the best day of the week for the blazers. here's a summary of the records by day of the week:

sunday, 1-3
monday, 0-2
tuesday, 5-1
wednesday, 1-1
thursday, 2-1
friday, 1-3
saturday, 2-2

other than tuesday, thursday seems to be a decent game day for the blazers. wednesday and saturday games produced .500 records. there's a big old goose egg in the win column on mondays, while sundays and fridays have produced identical and very discouraging 1-3 records.

the good news for portland is that there are 10 more tuesday games on the schedule. unfortunately there are only five thursday games. and the real bad news is that there are 10 more games on fridays. here's a breakdown of games left on the schedule by day of the week:

sunday, 7
monday, 8
tuesday, 10
wednesday, 9
thursday, 5
friday, 10
saturday, 8

does this mean anything? is there some subliminal benefit to the team when it plays on tuesdays? probably not. but then again, in professional sports you never know. as far as i'm concerned, however, i wouldn't mind seeing the remaining 57 games all played on tuesdays!

    I guess (just guess) that this means almost nothing, but a nice stat anyways. who know someday you'll get like David Aldridge and those guys on NBA.com that get those craze calculations on :D

    Sure we win more games on Tueday because that is my bowling night and I can't watch. If I can't watch a game we win, if I get to watch the game we lose or play lousy.

    I would go to not watching if that got Portland to win
