MY SUITE EXPERIENCE

By blazerdarren77
Have you ever had the privilege to experience a Blazer game from a suite? If not, let me tell you this; you will have a great time.

Before I go on, I just want to give my thanks to Subway and the folks at HMH, who promoted the contest.

A few days ago, I received an e-mail that I won 4 tickets to a suite to the Orlando game. So I called the number to confirm (and make sure it wasn't a scam) the prize. It also came with a parking pass and complimentary sandwiches, chips, cookies, and soda from Subway.

I take my 2 boys, Casey and Joey; that's a no brainer. I had to find out who would be the fourth guest. I called a neighbor friend who moved to Washougal, WA to see if he would like to go and he said yes. I'm all set. All I had to do was drive to his house, pick him up and go to the game.

We get there and get to the suite just in time for the player intro. The room was maxed out. All the promoters and guests were there. We are enjoying ourselves.

The game started out slowly; Dwight Howard was unstoppable. I was positively nervous, hoping the Blazers could at least make it competitive throughout the game. During timeouts, I took pictures, and said hi to the bloggers(they just under the party suite). The Blazers started to get back in the game trailing by only 1 point at halftime.

I decide to roam the corridor to check out the facility on the level. I see other people thinking nothing of it when all of a sudden, there's Jerome Kersey. I say hi to him and shake his hand. The lady with him asked if I had a pen. I didn't. If I had thought quick enough, I would have asked if he'd like to have a picture taken with the boys and I, but I didn't. Oh well.

I get back to the suite in  time for the 2nd half. Everybody's into it and the Blazers take the lead and start to pull away in the 4th. They win. Had they made their free throws, we would have gone home with chalupas. But they won and that's all that matters.

Now I can say for me that I have seen a Blazer game from every level of the arena, even the 100 level. What an awesome experience we had.

So have you been to a suite? If so tell me your story.

  1. Great blog post! Thanks for sharing your experience. You know, I do recall myself and some of my family members who are big Blazer fans did spend one game in a suite, but I'm afraid I don't remember the details, so I want to ask these family members before I recall that particular game, so I will get back to you once I do - I'll be getting into town this Friday (I'm in Europe), so maybe by this weekend I'll have something to share. Again, thanks for the post. - Anees

  3. The suites are a really great experience. I was fortunate enough to be able to experience that myself. It was right when the Rose Garden was fairly new. I think it was my first game there. Jerome is awesome, when I met him he seemed like a really down to earth guy. Great blog and sounds like you had a great time. Cheers!
