Too much money for the risk, he's currently making 17M. This from a news feed, "In NBA history, 45 players have made an All-Star Game, then missed a full regular season (for any reason). Only 9 of these 45 players (20%) were able to come back to the NBA and play in another All-Star Game."

I hear what you are saying RipCity. It's not that I don't like JJ's game but defensively he doesn't cut it at center and I don't think he is going to want to play back-up. I believe he will get some good offers to be a starting PF when free agency opens.

I would also like to see more post play out of the Blazers. I think it needs to come from Meyers Leonard. JJ is a great contributor. I am hoping he is eventually replaced at center by Leonard. The SG position we have an excellent contributor in Wes and a potentially excellent back up in Elliot Williams.
The real issue with JJ is will he want to play back up to Aldrige at PF? Or for that matt...

I think both freddead and commontongue are correct. I remember when Oden was starting out he had coaches working with him constantly on improving his game. Is Leonard getting that same treatment? I remember Maurice and Buck Henry as big man coaches, who is doing that on Stotts crew?

You are right. I'm showing my age. I lived in Tucson when Sean Elliot played for Arizona. Heavy sigh. I'm a big Elliot Williams fan too and I"m really hoping he gets healthy.
