Portland arena named on PETA's first-ever Top 10 list
PORTLAND, Ore.
– The Rose Garden has been named the sixth most vegetarian-friendly basketball arena by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The Rose Garden is operated by Ovations Food Services, a nationally ranked specialist in food and beverage catering and concessions for public assembly facilities. The arena features more than 35 unique concession stands and kiosks, in addition to two full service restaurants.
In its top 10 list, PETA noted the variety of vegetarian options at the Rose Garden, including veggie burgers, vegan protein shakes, vegetable sandwiches, a broccoli stir-fry with rice or noodles, and granola with berries, bananas, and vegan protein powder at concession stands. PETA was also impressed by the stir-fried soy strips with pineapple and teriyaki sauce available in the suites.
“We have the good fortune to work with the Portland Trail Blazers in one of the trendiest cities in the U.S. in terms of food and beverage diversity,” said
Tony Hendryx
, Ovations’ Regional Vice President. “At the Rose Garden, we strive to write menus that serve the ever-changing needs of our clients. Our chef, Michael Pulscak, and his team are constantly updating and upgrading our menus in an effort to stay in touch with the vibrant food culture.”
Last month, the Rose Garden ranked fifth among the Top 15 Stadiums for Food according to The Daily Meal, an online guide that delivers food and beverage news and experiences from around the world.
