looks like t rob was a great pick up and possibly gonna be starting sometime either @ the beginning of the season or @ the trade deadline since aldridge has recently asked to be traded and talked to olshey about trade scenarios in vegas after denying wanting out after draft night

BLASER, let's be clear about this before we start throwing around accusations: LaMarcus DID NOT REQUEST A TRADE, not before the FA period, and not now. The article that you're seeing posted says that Aldridge's CAMP (his agent, his team, etc) met with Olshey to discuss trade scenarios. This doesn't mean he's getting traded yet, it means they're curious about exactly how we define his value. Just like we saw during the FA rumors, a journalist can say "Aldridge wants to go to chicago" but if chicago isn't willing to give up the right value, they won't be getting Aldridge. So just trying to make sure we don't start rumors and more gossip: Aldridge's TEAM is looking into what we would want for him. That is all.

That is very different than Aldridge requesting a trade, which according to LaMarcus as of last night (7/17/13), Aldridge has NOT done.

I am a fan of BLAZER BASKETBALL. Not drafts, not business, not trades, not David Stern. Just BLAZER BASKETBALL.

Do fans think drama actually gives you a deeper run in the playoffs or something? They're so eager to say LaMarcus is unhappy and wants to go to the New Miami York Thunder or some star-filled team like that.

Ok... the truth. LaMarcus did not demand a trade, he wants out of the entire league. He's joining the Moscow Ballet, but he's embarrassed to talk about it. He wants the regular season to start so the fans have basketball to distract them from his ballet career. I got this from a source that Dwight Jaynes says is "close to the situation." ;)

I don't see why Aldridge camp would care what his value is.. If you want Aldridge to retire here then its not a good sign that he is talking about possible trade scenarios.. Im thinking they were talking about teams that Aldridge would LIKE to be traded too. But Olshey shouldn't care what team LA wants to go to, just find the best possible deal.

A few things that summer league has taught me about our young team. Thomas Robinson is a BEAST!!! I am more than impressed with his pay and his work on the boards. He was a great pickup.

Will Barton is a turnover machine!! He should be used sparingly as a ball handler if at all and should be coached as a pure shooting guard. The guy can score. He has great heart and is a definite spark. He should be good this year, but he will probably have moments where even he should be scratching us head wondering what he just did.

Overall, I'm really impressed by what we got out of these 2 as I was most skeptical about how they would go. McCollum had his moments and will be better with Dame on the court. Freeland and Claver were there but still have a long way to go. I see Claver spending a few weeks in the D-League but I think he could get better and be useful later in the season.

I kinda laughed when I realized the summer league team had the exact same problem as the whole team last year. If 5 guys could've played all the minutes without getting tired, they would've dominated. Unfortunately, when other lineups got on the floor, we lost leads and it got ugly.

I'm starting to think we might be in decent shape since the starting lineup for this squad is the bench for the whole Blazer squad. Meyers can be excellent when he plays smart, so hopefully he can play with a higher IQ as the season progresses. I'm not worried too much about T-Rob since he said most of the offensive plays he's made are things he wouldn't do in the regular season. Also I liked the "I won't play the victim" moment of clarity from him. CJ's shooting percentage looks like it might plummet from college. At the same time, he might feel less pressure to take over when he's the 1st or 2nd sub off the bench.

Anyway, the only thing we know for sure is that they'll be rested with all the replay reviews that are being added to slow down gameplay...

I work 12 to 14 hours a day so I do not get much of a chance to watch anything right now. I will record any and all blazer games pre and regular and POST, as I can, summer league I will just go by stats. Looking from the stats Mr. Robinson seems to be a good pickup. Leonard I was pretty disgusted with 7 personal fouls 6 rebounds? HTF does that happen? ( I know in summer league you get more fouls its just that you get more fouls than rebounds when rebounding is your job?)  This last game though I see the stats of 3 PF's and 13 rebounds keep that up and I will remit my petition to get Thabeet back. Claver Freeland predictable but disappointed. Barton has picked it up the last 2 games I would like to see a few less TO's from him and CJ. CJ is going to need a few more assists to go around but he is playing with  1st year and rookies so that will probably change up a bit seeing as this is only 5 games together and no training camp.

Joel and Victor are probably the only two that have shown noticeable improvement, barnettfan, it just isn't showing in the stats. Joel is altering a lot of shots in the paint without fouling, he just still has shooting woes and lets a lot of rebounds get taken away from him. Maybe T-Rob will show him how to take the air out of the ball on the rebound. Claver is running the floor well and defending the perimeter a lot better this year.

Otherwise, you're right on the money with the other evaluations.

Harris is worth a roster spot, not so sure about Crabbe though. Summer league Crabbe couldn't throw a basketball in a swimming pool. I thought he was a shooter? Harris would have had double digit assists yesterday if Crabbe could make a shot.

C.J. McCollum, Trail Blazers Can the Blazers go back-to-back on Rookie of the Year winners? After Damian Lillard practically went wire-to-wire to claim the award last season, Portland went out and almost drafted a clone. The conventional thinking is that McCollum will get stuck on the bench playing second fiddle to Lillard and that will limit his production. But there is really no reason to think the Blazers were drafting a sub at No. 10. They’re gonna find a way to get their pair of ball-handling scorers on the floor together as much as possible. There are plenty nuances of the game McCollum has to learn, but he’s got the swagger to take on anything thrown at him and find a way to shine.

He would have to be almost 6 man of the year to win it coming off the bench. Other rookies will probably log more minutes this season.

I like the fact that this kid has a great work ethic. I think if Crabbe doesnt find his stroke, he has action at being Mr. D-League MVP. I also think that he will have to outplay, outshoot and out hustle the eratic one, Will the thrill.

Am i wrong or are we at 14 spots filled with T Harris ? If im right, we can still pick up another player. I heard Olshey likes to keep a slot open to make magic happen if need be. Lets see... who's available...

Quite a few actually. Uhmmmmmm, put E. Will back on the roster please.

@ commontongue, IDK if I'm right but isn't this where we r:
    Dorell Wright
    Wesley Matthews
    C.J. McCollum
    Damian Lillard
    Will Barton
    Nicolas Batum
    Thomas Robinson
    Robin Lopez
    Joel Freeland
    Victor Claver
    Meyers Leonard
    LaMarcus Aldridge
    Allen Crabbe
    Terrel Harris
    Earl Watson

That makes 15 if we sign T Harris (I like E. Will & will miss him but I think we should sign this guy ;)  If I'm wrong, let me know, thx all :)

@ commontongue, coo! :)  I like Terrel; I actually think Neil would b remiss in his duties not to sign him.  Aside from his last scoring outburst in SL (which was awesome!), I saw some good things in him b4 that in SL & thought he should b allowed to join us ;)  Harris seems to have good energy, plays pretty good D, is a deadly enough scorer to keep defenses honest, & if he makes a mistake he won't give up on that play or the next.  Terrel also feels like a young mature guy that would b a good influence on/off the court for OUR guys :)
