I really really think trading our pick is the wisest and most effective thing to do. This years draft is a poor standard. Ohsley needs to get in a real powerhouse starting defensive centre. It's all so interesting and I am very excited to see what happens. Asik sounds good, or Larry Sanders. If we happen to get a top 3 pick tonight, then Victor Oladipo would be the player I'd like at Rip City.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.

I am a fan of Raymond Felton. Haha, seriously though I'm a fan of Batum's Lobs and JJ's Slams.

The house of cards begins.  We will not know which centers become available until we know where some of the other centers land.  Binum, Splitter, Al Jefferson, Dwight Howard.  The only way that Asik becomes available is if Houston lands Howard and they need some room to accomplish the signing.  We could always offer contracts for Binum, Splitter, or Jefferson because they are unrestricted free agents.  But if we go after anyone else we would probably be doing so under a trade.  Olshey has his work cut out for him.

If we come out of this draft with Asik, and Oladipo I  would say we did very good.

I think one of the problems in getting Asik is LA has the ability to offer him more money than any other team.  Since Howard seems to go where the money is he might not be going anywhere except LA.  If Howard does not move to Houston or Dallas our options would be limited.  Which center would be worth an offer:  Al Jefferson, Tiago Splitter, Binum, Hickson, or who?  We could dip into the restricted free agent list that would include Pekovic.  Anyone got any ideas what the other possibilities would be?

Splitter would fill our needs the best. Pekovic isn't great defensively but a solid rebound and a muscle man who would do decent. Al Jefferson is a less polished LMA with not as good defence and his rebounding is decreasing.

I have not been overly impressed with splitter's defense in the post season.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
