This game looks crazy good. Along with the Jordan-legend mode (essentially you take a 79-rated rookie in today's NBA and put him on your fv team and try to work him up to greatness), there will be classic teams, classic players, and even the classic courts! Yes, you can play as the early 90's Blazers in the Glass palace, MJ and Scottie in the old Chicago Stadium, and with Larry Legend in the Boston Garden!

I'm definitely buying this when it comes out! I'm an old-school guy when it comes to the late 80's-early 90's, because that was when I was introduced to the game and thought the game was at its peak so I love even the old court designs of MSG, the feel of the old arenas like Chicago Stadium, the Forum, and Boston Garden, and you'll let me hoop with the greatest collection of Trail Blazers (early 90's) in the MC? Take my $60 now! I'm not going to lie, it'll be cool going through a Jordan legends career with him on the Blazers..you know..just to see what it would have been like ;)

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetness! Daaaamn - I wish I had time to play those games - the best I had was NBA Live'95 for my PC. I never owned a console, though my cousin had the original Nintendo and we used to play all summer long back in the 90s (ahhh, the good old days!). Wow, that was a tight trailer and that looks like one heck of a game. Yes, I love the old school stuff as well, just as ClydeFrog. Not only were those days the good old days for me/us (feeling old!), but for the NBA as well I think. That is a great concept with the legends stuff and the old courts and players, etc. Simply awesome!

Yet another 2k basketball game that will never be as good as 2k9. And Jordan???
Wow, What a F***** sell out bro. Michael Jordan has never been in any basketball video game, because he himself did not want to.
And now i can only think, because of the whole LeBron - the phenom- ana, and all the big trades, you can count on MJ feeling a little forgotton, so he finally sold out and is in a game.
WOW! First he leaves basketball for baseball, and now he sells out over a video game after standing tall for 10+ years, if you ask me i think someone needs to introduce the #23 jersey to a blowtorch. haha. But really though this game is doing what the madden games did, making everyone look bigger, rounder, obese-er, looks to much like NBA live.
    2k9 forever!

2K11 looks nicer and nicer by the day. Check out this latest update from Ball Don't Lie:

Yep — that's the virtual Clippers at the virtual White House for a virtual meet-and-greet with virtual President Barack Obama. 2K Sports has really thought of everything. From the game's Facebook page:

Even the Clippers have a shot at kicking it with Barry in the Oval Office. NBA 2K11's revamped Association Mode sends your squad to the White House when you win it all.

OK, if you somehow weren't sold on the game from the Michael Jordans, realistic graphics or frickin' Barack Obama cameo, I'd think the Clippers crack might push you over the edge. If 2K Sports is smart enough to know which NBA team is most zing-worthy, then it must know what it's doing. Given the basketball knowledge it's shown so far I wouldn't be surprised if a sweatpants-clad Obama was somehow a hidden playable character.

Soo excited for this game, looking forward to wasting way too many hours I'll never get back playing it. I can't wait to dominate fools with a healthy Blazer roster, I held my own last season last year after everyone got hurt, but I sold my game shortly before they traded for Camby! Damn it was a dumb move!

I hope the online gameplay is better than last year, but it didn't improve last year from the year before by much so I won't expect them to figure it out, but at least it's not EA trash, not sure why I bought madden but its as garbage as i remembered it being since they squeezed 2k sports out of the NFL market.

    Long live 2k sports!

    MJ is such a SELLOUT!!!!!!!!
LeBron was taking way to much of his lime light so MJ had to sellout! Micheals not the best anymore, or at least he feels that way, why else would he of just suddenly decided to sign a contract to get himself into HIS FIRST video game.

Hey guys, not to rub it in your faces... I PRE-ORDERED THE GAME!
Okay, that might be too mean, but lol.  Yes, I did pre-order the game, and the first thing I'm going to do... Is play with the Blazers in the practice facility.  Then.... turn off the game and do homework. Lol.
@ClydeFrog: those ratings seem like it came straight off from NBA 2k10.  Seems like Miller got a -1 to his rating, though.  However, I do expect to see a HUGE difference by the end of the season.  IDK?  Roy: 90?  Batum: 76?  Aldridge: 83?  Oden: 78?  I tried to rate those a slightly higher than what I had in mind.  Sometimes, I feel like 2K snakes us.  But you know what they say about the Blazers?  2K compared us to a category of team that is a piece or two away from contending...

They allowed players to use yao for a majority of last season so they better not put oden injured right away, I would make his injury rating (or low?) though.

Not impressed with the preliminary ratings, but one thing about 2k sports is they product test and pay attention to the actual sport to make the gameplay change accordingly, and they update their games respectively.
I can't play madden (ea sports) without getting frustrated, because half the times your tackled its a horse-collar, which should be called, they've made it almost impossible to run the ball and win, and my wide receivers get bumped off their routes a lot online after 5 yards and it doesn't get called... and if you've spent a few minutes to understand their Ultimate Team trash you feel bad for people who spend money on that.

Downloaded both demo's off of Xbox marketplace, and everything about NBA elite screams thrown together quickly and will have problems. 2k's version looks better, and they made it a lot harder to get easy baskets, while NBA elite still hasn't grasped the concept of direct passing (2k you've been able to pass directly by using individual selections/buttons as well as a directional pass for those who aren't as quick with the filanges.

Granted I'm biased, because any game that allows me to play in the old boston garden, assumably with the cross-grained wood panel it had back when i was a kid, is a game I want to buy, the coliseum will be neat too although it's not demolished (yet) so that's not as big of a thing to me.

Very tempted to pick this one up, last years game was alright...hard to get excited for the yearly sports games cause they hardly change anything game play wise.  Now that NBA Jam is going to be a stand alone game for PS3 and 360 i'll probably end up picking that up instead.

That game looks sweet... but no Shawn Kemp?!?!? He was one of the best in game dunkers ever. Loved seeing Nique, Drexler and Porter, hopefully the rest of the guys are there (especially Kersey!) I also want to check out NBA Elite.

Also laughing at MJ being a sellout, and to top it off, he's a sellout because of Lebron. ha ha ha Where do you get this garbage TayC?
No one thinks Lebron is better than MJ, especially until Lebron can win a Championship on his own, but since that won't happen now, he will still be considered less than Jordan even if the Heat win.

the demo's speak volumes, the new controls for elite are non-competitive garbage, and it doesn't look as good as 2k either. 2k's gameplay gets harder every year, and this year seems like it's the hardest to get a basket in the paint so far. The only thing they really need to revamp is their online team play and make it glitch out less, they don't need to change anything (that they aren't already stating is being changed) other than consistency of online play. EA just doesn't care enough to put the effort into sports games, all their budget goes into advertising, whereas 2k11 is 2k sports lifeline...granted they are branching out into more, but they know how important nba2k is to their brand.

honestly if you have a better idea to why he suddenly decided to be in video games after going his whole career, his whole life afterwards without doing so until now id really love to hear it.

All this is unneeded, this is NOT the first game Michael Jordan has been in... this is NOT the first game sold where he was the main attraction.
    To name two specifically,

-"NBA Street" - Various   No matter what team you started as you got Jordan on your team.

I never said anything about choosing him. 1. choose a team to go through a "campaign" 2. Go to your first game 3. Jordan is on your roster.  simple yes? fact is he has been in games its not saying he is or isn't selling out, maybe he has reasons why he is doing it who knows.  Im not sitting here to get in a fight, just righting an incorrect statement, just so happens it was said by you, nothing personal.

The whole "sellout" drama is overplayed anyway. TayC do you have a job or have you ever had a job or even looked for one? I'm sure you have/do. I guess you should call yourself a sellout.

Sellout to me is for people who preach one thing or a lifestyle and then turn their backs on that thing/lifestyle or do that very thing they preached against, to make more money. Like Dr Dre doing that Dr Pepper commercial.

Okay that Snes game, doesnt count, because back then people made games for micheal jackson too, so im gonna guess he had nothing to do with it.

Second, Micheal Jordan's name, was never in NBA street, he was just Player, it may of had 23, but it was just player, so your 0-2 now.

Third, which doesnt matter, but still, how and why would he be on everyones team, like ha ha, dude that does NOT make any sense, i dont care if your as smart as tom and you pretends to be, it still doesnt make sense, i dont see how anyone could or would do that.

SO Back to the case at hand, micheal jordan is a sell out.
A sellout, is suprisingly, someone who does exactly what the word means, sell out. Someone will perhaps have a long tradition going, it could be anything, but then they finally break their rule, and sell out.

A perfect example, my friend quit smoking ciggarettes a while ago, and if i told him i'd give him $5 to smoke one, and he did, that would be a sell out.
It doesnt take a rocket scientist to make the comparission to MJ.
Refused, never once was in any video games, and finally after what could have been one of the most sports filled dramatic summers ever, he decides
"I aint gettin enough  money from these damn Hanes commercials."

Like Dr Dre doing that Dr Pepper commercial.

have you ever had a friend in real life?
    like not on the computer?

Why don't you think before you speak. You are on here every time I stop by, moron.

Another good sellout example is whoever sold out the Blazers to Comcast!

hahahah, yea like i said, not on the computer? hahahahaha

And now i can only think, because of the whole LeBron - the phenom- ana, and all the big trades, you can count on MJ feeling a little forgotton, so he finally sold out and is in a game.

Micheals not the best anymore, or at least he feels that way, why else would he of just suddenly decided to sign a contract to get himself into HIS FIRST video game.
You said MJ felt that way and are implying it in all of your posts!
    Exactly, you tool.
he feels that way thats why he's selling out for this game.
Telling me i cant read, pshhhhh

why dont you underline the "OR AT LEAST HE FEELS THAT WAY" part, or do you like, not read all of the posts, and just like skim through them and like act dumb, and like, can you read?

    Yah thats you BTW, smartass.

All this is unneeded, this is NOT the first game Michael Jordan has been in... this is NOT the first game sold where he was the main attraction.
    To name two specifically,
-"Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City" - SNES   Not even a basketball game and had him on the cover and evertything.
-"NBA Street" - Various   No matter what team you started as you got Jordan on your team.
    There we go

Well for Chaos in the windy city they had to have his consent otherwise he can sue for them using his face on the cover and his name without his consent so thats 1 point for me, also its my mistake he was in NBA Street Volume 2.  I never said he is on every team, he is on whatever team the player in the campaign chose.  Proof... Read it   So that would make me 2 for 2 i never stated i was smarter than anybody.  I know my facts and i backed them up, I don't see why you are fighting about this i never argued about selling out.  As I said before I am not going to go one way or another on that topic because I don't know his reasons for doing so all I know is that those two games Michael Jordan was in and it wasn't "Player" wearing a 23. So I know your going to say I'm wrong but i would love to see how many readers actually side with either one of us on this lol wish a Mod. could make a poll to see who is right about MJ in video games.

    okay.
Whats funny, is your kind of right.
but haha, your wrong on only one thing.
If he is on whatever team you choose, then technically, he is on every team. yea?
And i wasnt saying you were smart, or dumb, or anything actually, i just stated that, the whole him on every team thing made no sense, tom had said he got it, so thats what i was referring to.

So i thank you for actually finding out that information for me.
and im sorry that its so hard for so many to understand my dialect, i type as if i am speaking, and talking in person so much more engaging.

But i still want to know why he did it, because to me he still sold out, he had no reason to do it.

Technically he wouldn't be on "every" team but "any" team to be gramatically correct just because the term every implies that he is on all teams at the same, but regardless i understand where your coming from and unless there is an interview with Jordan we may never know as to why he did it

Geez now you are an internet stalker too?

I hate macs. They are an overpriced trend that aren't worth it unless you are serious about graphic design or something similar. PC hardware is usually way ahead of macs and way cheaper, even if its the exact same thing... like hard drives. But I like mr mackey mmmkay. You obviously are a bad judge of character and personality.
You seem like a trendy Iphone douche.

I also bet you don't make the team due to your lack of basketball iq. ha ha

That's why i said graphic design or similar, I just don't speak from experience on that. But on recording music I can, and windows os works just as good for recording music, which I do on mine. I think some people are just so comfortable on a mac that they think it is better and vice versa. I think pc is fine, and I like having newer technology sooner (ie ddr3) and messing around with it.

Also I tried out the NBA Elite 11 demo, man that sucked.

*SPOILER ALERT* RUINING THIS GAME's little surprise

    2k11 is soooo sick.

the surprise is that when game loads up you don't have a choice, you go straight to game 1 of the 91 finals...wish it were 92 finals but nonetheless you getta the Horace grant, paxson, cartwright (and of course jordan pippen) bulls, against the Worthy Divac Magic Johnson Lakers. I left around halftime but it was pretty awesome. All i've had time to do is create a PGOTF...tried to make him a defensive, pass first pg, and he kinda sucks, but its still fun.

For you shoe fans, theres (I think) 50 unlockable shoes.

fast breaks are harder, playing the passing lanes harder, and they finally call moving picks (a lot on rookies), so this game is better than last year. True test is how glitchy team play hosts are, haven't had a chance to test that out, I'm sure association is just as sick as well, wish the blazers got a little bit more love, but funny enough they have Patty Mills slotted as the backup pg with a strong 66 skill.
