"The Portland Trail Blazers have reached agreement with "Rip City Two," a SportsTwo.com message board that will become the team's "official message board" this season. The agreement is one year in length and includes an option for a second season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The organization's marketing department sought such a partnership after reaching the conclusion that their "IamATrailBlazerFan" message board, which was moderated in-house, was too burdensome and that a partnership with a preexisting message board would better achieve their goals of fostering discussion and reaching fans online." - Ben Golliver/Blazers Edge

    1)  "A message board is only ever as good as the people who put content on it and moderate it," Hankins told Blazersedge." - Dewayne Hankins/Blazer Marketing VP

    2) "Without curation and moderation and good content, the boards become stale or hostile or somewhere in between" - Hankins

    3)  "A primary goal of the partnership is ad placement."

    4) "We do not have to filter what we or any poster says about the Blazers." Denny Crane/new site moderator

    1) Shocking.  Only been asking for this for... ever.

    2) Welcome to reality

    3) You mean you have to have money to provide a decent product?  You don't say.

    4)  Sweet, swear to your hearts content, but derogatory ad hominem attacks will be dealt with by a moderator

Virtually zero posts from paid moderators or staff certainly did not help promote content on this site.

We had better constructed discussion boards on our Commodore computer systems in 1987.
That's all that need be said

This is how I find out?  Five years here, the later 3 1/2 as a Mod, and not even a message or an email from anyone in the organization to whom I have been serving, without pay, faithfully... policing content once an hour every hour (because my 9-5 affords me that luxury) every day?  Expected more from what I had mistakenly perceived to be a first class organization.

On the off chance that someone is actually still visiting these boards, allow me this opportunity to say, "Thank you".  Has been a distinct pleasure getting to know so many good people thru Blazer basketball, my extended family growing every year...these boards the vehicle fostering such rewarding relationships.

Though the bitter taste of disrespect still lingers in my mouth, I wish to say "Thank you" to Dustin as well, for having the trust in me to grant me the position, and for treating me as an equal during.  Thank you Dustin.

To my Trailblazer Personal Account Representative...you need not pick up the phone again with the intent to dial my number.  You're wasting your valuable time.  I was not raised to treat anyone, in any type relationship whether it be of a personal or business nature, the way those that sign your check have done me, and I have neither respect nor the time for it.

See y'all on the flip side!

    Go Blazers!

@BDawg...thanks for all the devotion to this site you've given. I've appreciated it over the years and it's too bad the paid staff at TB.com didn't make a connection here that would tie the fanbase to the team. I would have named the site, iamadoubterofallaspectsofthetrailblazers.com after awhile, it just became redundant. I've enjoyed your posts and many folks who have regularly contributed. Go Blazers

    BDAWG,

Thank you for your tremendous service to this board.  After reading some of the new board, it appears there is much better quality of posts on this board.  Imatrailblazerfan.com is the Official Fan Forum of the Blazers.

Thanks BDAWG for your tremendous efforts and they are appreciated.

I don't like the Rip City 2 forum. There are some posters that use horribly foul language.

No thanks, I will pass. Game talk should always be within reason, and not used for spazmastic potty mouth episodes.

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
