Dave over there in Blazersedge and many others made a great point, about how little teams actually improve by 10+ wins in a season. It is rare to see a team improve by 10+ games. Also people talked about how we tanked last season the last 15 games or so, but everysingle team during our last 13 losses were from teams over 500. So even if we weren't trying to intentionally losing, they still would have been hard games. A lot of people said around 40 wins.

But our division got weaker and MANY teams are in FULL TANK MODE. Also this roster is 10X better than last season's.

    I SAY 50-32

    I'm with Dame, 46 wins.

54-28...hey, why not? We're undefeated as it stands. I think this team will surprise the west. This will require sweeping the bottom feeders and gaining home court over the splits but it's possible. If this team plays the way they should, they can beat anybody. The key word here is TEAM! If Dame wants to be an allstar he should have said, I expect to win every game! That's what Jordan, Johnson or Bird would have said.

Rare is a relative term.  When I think "rare" I'm thinking 18 3pt attemts in a single game by one player (Damian Stoudamire had 21 in a game once).  Or 30 technical fouls in a season (Rasheed had 40 one year).  This is a significant percetage of teams who increase their win totaly by 9 or 10 games every season.  Dave only looked at the Blazers history and how "rare" it is for Portland.  I think one would need to look at the entire league as a start point or the conclusion would be inconclusive at best.

Dave's argument misses the mark in my opinion because he's simply missing a lot of data/varriables.  I don't enduldge in predictions but I also can't imagine  how Portland does not increase thier wins significantly this year.

I'd love to see a five-o up there in the W column. We could use more Blazer beatdowns. Can't let the rest of the league think we're soft. Big win Blazers is a term I would be estatic about.

In a recent interview Dame Lillard said that he would be happy with a 13 win improvement and a record of 46-36. I think this is achievable but I'm more than happy with just a winning record and a spot in the playoffs. I say this with a slight condition that we MUST make the second round. I think LA said it best earlier this year when he pointed out that he has had home court in the first round before so just making the post season is not good enough.

With our improved roster, newly named building and a definite direction within the team, I think a 44 win season is on the cards and a place in the second round is a minimum for our Blazers! A few blowout wins over the Kings and Lakers would be a real bonus and a sweep of the Bulls would make me extremely happy. I think the key for me as I've said before is to have a winning record at home and 9 or 10 division wins. That's real improvement. It's been forever since we won the division and even longer since we got into round 2 of the postseason. I'm really looking forward to a great winning season in Rip City!!!!

Also, I want us to win the season series against the T'Wolves for like the 100th year running.

I am guessing 44-38 mainly on the premise that some other teams got better as well.

golden state went from 23 wins in the lock out and .348 winning pct. to 47 wins last season.(that winning percentage projected out to be 28 wins in a full season. 19 win increase projected of course. on that hype alone, i'm all in for a 47 win season and a 7th seed.

I think we have covered 44-38 up to 54-28.  But all of us determined a positive move for our blazers.  Sounds good.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
