Yessir. Now i can see Dame playing off the ball with another 3 point shooter handling the rock I like Mo. Olshey is definitely handling his business.

Shut the front door.  Wow.  That's is what I am talking about!!!  As if Harris wasn't a forgon conclussion with his drug malfunction, this is a really solid signing.  A PG.  A vet.  A 3 pt shooter.  Nothing blockbuster, but for a room exception in August, I'm pleasantly surprised.  Looks like Mo opted for Portland over Memph and MIAMI.

    Lillard, Mo, E. Watson

    Matthews, McCollum, Crabb

    Batum, Wright, Claver, Barton

    LA, Robinson, Freeland

    Lopez, Leonard

    Schmexy!!!  Go Blazers!!!

This signing blows me away! Mo shores up the bench pt guard without putting CJ in a pressure cooker and allowing him to play off the ball. Mo can drill the deep shot as well. 3 pt shooters will line up to play for coach Stotts! Our bench just got rock solid and seriously deep! Neil Olshey is a very, very smart GM! Damian will practice against a real pt guard and Meyers will practice against a real center. Our practice court just got a lot more competitive for minutes.

I am very optimistic about our future. With Mo at the point and Dame playing off the ball,we are about to bring the business. Not to mention that Mo will groom the bench and get guys the rock in spots where they can do something with it. Even if Stotts brings Mo and McCollum of the bench at the same time,we still have a great facilitator on the floor to push T-Rob and Leonard. Playoffs ? I certainly think so. For some reason, i dont think Olshey is done.

Our bench is pretty damn solid now! Thats so rad. Man, I just love that I dont have to hold my breath when Lillard comes out at point now. With Nolan Smith the last few years, and Bayless before him... so many turnovers from lack of control.

    Nice job, Olshey. Great summer.

portland are back in the title contention. damian should improve his defense since he got heart to play defense now. mo will only wreck other team defense worst for them. blazers should have more big game and better efficiency by dame when he doesn't have to play 38 mins. against weak team every night. blazers will go as far as mo take the 2nd unit. blazers will surprise greg oden when he comes back to town, he will regret his decisions for fake injuring himself.

    dame/mo/watson

    wes/cj/crabbe

    batum/wright/barton/claver

    aldridge/t-rob/freeland

    lopez/leonard

this is such a deep team, instead of being a laughingstock this year, we will make other team a laughing stock. blazers should be unbeaten for at least 15 games. 56-26 record look possible. thank you mo for coming to portland

Great signing, but I personally think Mo's play far exceeds his stats, usually the best sign of a selfless team player! Oshley is doing his job wonderfully, and for those season ticket holders that gave up their good seats over the last couple years, thanks for letting me upgrade!

I really like this move. It gives us a solid vet who can do all the things Lillard needs around him. Floor spacing, ball handling and effective facilitation. Mo averaged 6 assists a game in Utah so he can creat for guys like Matthews and possibly create easier looks for Lopez and Leonard.

I think what I like most is his desire to play for Portland. He's already predicting a playoff run and will be our primary operator in the second unit. McCollum and Barton will have to fight for minutes at the 2 now but that's good competition. I hope we don't turn into a second version of the Warriors and just chuck up 3s every possession. I'd like Lillard to attack the rim more and for Batum to be a better slasher this season. The 2 of them combined only got about 8 free throws a game last year. That's too few for a guy with Lillards handle and ability off the dribble.

Im sure we can make the playoffs now and definitely beat a top seed in the first round. We can get the 6 or 7th seed and a matchup with either the Spurs or Thunder is winnable. I'm really excited. Can't wait for the season to start!!!

I think Olshey did a very good job so far this offseason, only 1 thing to make it kind of perfect, a veteran defensive big...but to achieve that someone would need to leave besides Harris...

PG Lillard / Williams / Watson

SG Mathews / Mcollum / Crabbe (will play a lot in he dleague i think)

SF Batum / Wright / Claver

PF Aldridge / Robinson / Freeland

    C Lopez / Leonard

Nuno, as much as it pains me to say it, if someone has to go, its probably going to be Will Barton. Or best case scenario, send him to Memphis where he played college ball for a pick and sign Cole Aldrich.

Great signing. we're still a little weak in the middle, could use another veteran C. But everything else is looking promising, assuming they all gel.

Has Drew Gooden been signed yet? Not that I think he's a super fantastic player, but he could offer us some cover for the bigs. I'd say Tyrus Thomas too, he's been a bust so far in his career, but then JJ Hickson didn't have a glowing resume when he came to Portland, so maybe Stotts could bring the best out in him as well.

    @ commontongue, Mo's actually a pg & a sg ;)

As for Watson, I actually don't think Neil would do that to him; Watson came to Portland largely in part due to his knowing Neil.  Regardless of how good our pgs develop, Earl will probably finish his career a Blazer (aka he signed for 1yr. & this is probably his last signing due to his age).

I actually think Watson will be inactive for most games. He, Crabbe, Barton, and probably Freeland will all share a rotation through the inactive list. Watson was brought in for his leadership more than his play, and Williams is the other side of that.

This is a killer pickup. I was nervous watching CJ at the point in summer league. He's a really good player, but passing is not his strong suit. I still think CJ will fill the 6th man role, but most of those minutes will be at the 2. Now we have pretty much zero drop-off when Dame leaves the game and all the other positions are deep enough for the Blazers not only to be a playoff team, but a team that any of the top 4 seeds won't want to see in the first round.

    Welcome to Portland, Mo!

It was a great signing, and came out of NOWHERE! I was sure Olshey was done but he came out with another great pick up. We have a really good roster. Ton of assets

I doubt CJ would have been able to handle the PG spot in real NBA games. Williams will be very good, he has been known to be a chucker, and that won't look to good since he has soo many talented players around him.

Now that we have SOO many great shooters, Lamarcus Aldridge MUST STOP taking long jumpers lololol but then again the roster is kinda build like Mavericks championship squad that Stotts was on.

@ commontongue, agreed; I don't want him guarding sg's when he's w/ us, that'd b a big time liability.  Mo even IF he'd joined us in his heyday... I STILL wouldn't let him guard sg's ;)

I think Mo will be a pg purely because he plays his best basketball at that position. He and Dame will play both spots when they are on the floor together. Dame has the size to move over and play a few mins at the SG spot and will allow Mo to handle the ball while having a real 3pt threat next to him. I'm really interested to see how many mins Matthews plays during the regular season. He is our best perimeter defender and I think he needs to be managed correctly so that he is 100% fit for March, April and hopefully, deep into May. Our deep SG rotation allows for that.

With more efficient shooting around him, LA will be able to mix it up and play both in the post and can move out to around 15 feet to draw his man away for the basket. The team looks a lot like the team Dallas had when they won the title in 2011. Good shooting, a great PF and a defensive C and a deep guard rotation. My only concern is Batum. Is he going to be a shooter? Or is he going to use his size and attack the basket more? Our free throw rate was appalling last year and both he and LA need to do a better job of drawing fouls and getting to the line.

I see your point about Jcrossover but i also think he would have been fine if he had a better point guard during that time with us. I strongly believe that Felton had alot to do with that entire season, however it was not him alone but i do think he was the poison that fed the rest of the tree. Just my opinion, He had a I Don't care attitude he showed it by coming into camp over weight and he showed when he talked to the media. I honestly think he wanted to be in new york and he got his wish.

Crawford came over with a soft spot for B-Roy and a thumb-to-Twitter filter that needed serious repairs.

Mo seems way more mature and he's here because he likes the situation, Neil, Terry, and his role. If he doesn't produce well here, we'll still have CJ and Earl to pick up the slack. Coach Nate was stuck relying on Crawford and Felton even though he hated what they were doing to the team... I really don't see ANYTHING like that being an issue this year.

6th man/6th starter/PG/shooter... for an almost forgotten Room exception, and he picked Portland over Miami and Memphis.  I think this was the best catch of the entire summer.  Lopez is servicable, as is Robinson, CJ, Wright, and perhaps even Watson.  Mo is bringing so much to the table and the court.  Playoff experience, 11 seasons of NBA basketball, a fierce competitor on road games, leadership, and a great mentor for Lillard and CJ.

Paul Allen spent every bit of money allowed by the CBA.  Olshey got the biggest bang for a Blazer buck. Pay close attention to posters who aren't excited about this aquisition and want to talk trades.  Then don't pay attention to them ever again. lol ; )

We now have capable men on the bench. I'm really glad we got a handful of vets and was holding my breath before thinking about rookies getting big minutes off the bench. All that is gone now! Mo seems to see the big picture. Love him saying he's not LeBron but he's an important piece to the puzzle! That's what I want to hear from every player. Neil Olshey is exceeding all my expectations!

Mo knows tricks of the trade... something Damien and CJ will HUGELY benefit from more so even than Watson...  We lead the league in three's attempted and made no doubt.  Now if LMA can thrive like Dirk did with all those shooters we will be tough to handle.

Guards might win games, but without having a skilled tree like Lopez to take heat of LMA on d we still are just average.... but with D and O we just might have a chance of doing something special... can't wait for camp to see how things shake out!!
