A man to me is someone physical and tough, someone who will fight through injury and still get the job done. A man is someone who will work harder than anyone else. When I look at Nicolas Batum or Lamarcus Aldridge I do not see men. Aldridge is much closer to being a man than Batum is at this point for me but neither of them are there yet.

Chuck Norris is clearly a man. Of course he could also be part god to but that is another story.

Clint Eastwood is also the epitome of a man.

It does not get anymore manly than Jackie Robinson, he faced serious threats of violence his whole career and still put up hall of fame numbers.

We need to add some serious toughness to this team, we need some men on this team, who is man enough to take this franchise to the next level? Nikola Pekovic certainly looks like a man, but does his game back it up, I think he could be an option. Tony Allen is definitely a man but will he look to stay in Memphis.

Rodman wore a wedding dress to marry Madonna and did a number of other crazy things off the court but when he stepped on the court there was no doubt he was all man. We need some players with that kind of grit, toughness and attitude.

You missed the point having a pair does not make you a man what you do with them does.

pekovic is a restricted free agent this summer.  Offering him a contract would be interesting.  Minn would need to match the offer to keep him.  Minn might offer to extend his contract to avoid free agency prior to july 1.  Remember the Batum issue with Minn.  This might be payback time.

Why should this one get locked, the Blazers need men to bring so toughness to the team. We need aggression and physicality that we have not had since Joel Pryzbilla, Crash and Andre Miller left.

He certainly looks manly in that photo. He is also built like a man at 6'11" 290. He could improve his defense but offensively he has really began to develop and he is also a solid rebounder. Price will be a major issue with him.

I could not agree more about Tony Allen being a man or the other examples you chosen.

Becoming a man takes time, LA and Batum off court could very much be men, but on the court they are nothing more than boys trying to become men.

Cajones ? I dont think anyone on this team is soft. I also dont think that we have any bruisers which we sorely need. What shouldnt be mixed up is a tough guy and a dirty guy. Theres no room in the game for dirty players.

Why didn't you say the Nile? And yes, we need a beard. Not some James Harden nonsense, some Nikola Pekovic. I have always held him as the epitome of alpha male. A Slavic Viking amongst the Steph Curry's and Batum's of the league.

I would still go for Asik though. Two types of Euro players. Fundamental guys, or no bullsh*t, shut up and get the job done guys.

And would you also like men to shave their chests, and their legs, and under their arms? A lot of women today basically like women, but with select male parts. Half the 'men' today aren't really men. I don't mean some aggressive beat your face in for anything kind of men, but just normal decent blue collar guys. Not these hipsters and Emos and all that nonsense.

@Chloe the definition for being male is being born with a penis, if you have an issue with that take it up with science not me. I suggested that being a man required you to do something with your equipment. Like standing up for a cause like Chuck Norris or Jackie Robinson, or not backing down from something when it gets tough.

Secondly Daniel Bryan is a wrestler and a damn good one but we need someone like him who happens to play in the NBA, furthermore the beard represents ruggedness and toughness, which is exactly the kind of player all teams need.

Lastly, beards are like accessories for men we can use them to add style, depth, to look sophisticated, rugged or lazy.

@Ripcity I agree, the only skinny leg jeans men should wear are wranglers on cowboys. The sissification of America needs to stop, I have not left the country in 8 years but I imagine this plague has spread elsewhere.

    This is a man

    This is a man

    This a confused boy

This is an even more confused male

    A man

    Distinguished Man

Not everyone needs to have a beard to be manly NPH is openly gay and smooth faced but he is still a man because he advocates for the gay community, raises money to fight numerous diseases and many more causes. His actions have earned his man card plus we wears suits all the time.

I just want someone tough who will stand up for his teammates on the court. Not allow the other team easy baskets and plays hard every second he is on the court on both ends. Beards are preferred but not a requirement.

I disagree with definition but I'm not discussing it here but its wrong, scientifically as well there are all sorts of birth defects there are men born with no penis and vice versa, but I get your point. Beards are cool,I like facial hair on men and I love body hair too, just when a guy has a james harden beard that's alittle to much as far as your above pictures I couldn't agree more.again I get your point, its just scientifically wrong, there's a lot of different people out there you'd be surprised, but your basic point makes perfect sense,we just don't need to start talking about genitalia on this board, derik rose has a penis so that ends your theory right there

Rose is a weird case, first we assume he has a penis but have never seen it to know for sure. On the court when he played he seemed the epitome of man fearless, aggressive and a leader. Then he got hurt and turned into something else. Currently his man card has been revoked.

And as far as beards are concerned I don't care if they have beards, just the real big bushy ones are gross,it irritates your skin when you brush up against it and its just overkill
