    What To Watch For

    Quick Start
    While the Trail Blazers certainly have had their fair share of bad losses this year, look for them to ride the wave of momentum from their 105-90 win over the Knicks and jump out quickly against the Pistons who are losers of seven straight. The key to a quick start is Nicolas Batum. After playing without a brace on his wrist against the Knicks, a more aggressive and assertive Batum showed up. Nic came out with a scorer's mentality, got a few buckets to drop, and finished with 16 points, on 6-10 shooting, to go along with his usual 6 assists 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. The team goes as Nic goes. In fact, Portland is 5-1 in games in which Nico scores 26 or more points. Watch the first few minutes closely to see which Trail Blazers squad shows up. Will it be one who is overlooking the slumping Pistons? Or will they play like the team that rattled off 13 straight points on the Knicks in the bat of an eye? If it's the latter, Portland could keep their momentum going right into their next five-game road trip.

    Lillard Vs. Knight
    Back on November 26th, Brandon Knight took Damian Lillard to point guard school. Knight led the Pistons to a 108-101 victory while scoring 26 points, on 9-17 shooting, including multiple buckets down the stretch to keep the Trail blazers comeback at bay. On the other hand, Lillard had a forgettable night in the Motor City, finishing with just 12 points, on 4-18 shooting. But just as the season's change, so has Dame's game. Although Lillard took home Rookie of the Month honors for November, there's no denying he's elevated his game each and every month. Over his last eight games, Lillard is averaging 24.8 points, while shooting a 63.1% eFG, to go along with 6.6 assists. While Dame is lighting it up on offense, watch his defense on Knight. Lillard should be able to score on the Pistons, but if he can limit Knight's offensive opportunities and hold him in check, it will go a long way in determining the outcome of the game.

    Pistons are out of fuel. They've lost 7 straight games. We should not help them push their ride to the gas station. In fact, we already let them borrow our gas card, and they burned it up by beating us earlier in the year. We should send them the bill. A chalupa night and a win will be adequate payment.

    Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.
