Trail Blazers (26-31) Vs. Timberwolves (20-34)

    What To Watch For

    Lillard + Maynor Backcourt
Minnesota's current guard rotation features four players: Ricky Rubio, Alexey Shved, JJ Barea, Luke Ridnour, with only Shved standing taller than 6-4. This plays right into Portland's hands as Coach Stotts has been wanting to play Damian Lillard and Eric Maynor together in the backcourt. Usually, the main reason not to play two point guards together for prolonged stretches is due to a mismatch at the shooting guard position, which can lead to headaches on the defensive end of the court. But with Minnesota mostly using point guards themselves, it's a prime matchup for the Trail Blazers to see what their floor generals can accomplish together. The best bet is for Lillard to play off the ball, something we haven't seen from him a whole lot this year, but with the addition of Maynor, it could become commonplace. Watch his shot selection. Does he go to the basket more? Or does he settle for the jumper? Is he more efficient. We'll get the full answers to these questions once the season is over, but a sneak peek never hurts.

    Victor Claver
Victor Claver is not a player whose stats will jump off the page at you, but he's the type of guy every team needs who does the little things in order to succeed. He's been getting more minutes lately, and even told me during Media Day on Monday that the more he plays, the higher his confidence gets. We all saw his 10 rebound performance against the Celtics Sunday night. What else is Vic going to show us next? I feel that the more consistent minutes Claver gets, the more he'll show us. He's got a very high basketball iq, is a threat to make the correct pass, and has nice form on his jumper. Once he gets more comfortable in the system and overall style of play in the NBA, he could be a valuable asset off the bench for years to come. Let's see what he gives us against the Wolves!

Be afraid. Be very afraid. We've reached a place where no team can afford to be under estimated. My pick to click will be..........  Meyers Leonard.

I look for Wes and Batum to shoot the lights out since it seems they can't miss when they play against the T-Wolves, I have the feeling this could be a breakout game for Maynor in a Blazer uniform also I wonder what will Meyers do for an encore after his breakout game can he consistently have that energy and aggressiveness especially against a bruiser like Pekovic, also please keep an eye on Cunningham he almost burn us last time, don't sleep on Derrick Williams he may be inconsistent but, it doesn't mean he can't have on of those games that can get this team a win he almost did that to us last time when he had 13 in the 4th, and it wouldn't hurt to see Claver put Stiemsma on another poster Go Blazers.

I absolutely loved seeing Meyers Leonard play like he is expected to play and hope that he continues to play that way the rest of the season! one thing I would like to see is him learning to jump for that allyoop and steal the ball away. Tons of potential there if he learns to jump!! Definetly watch Cunningham, he pretty much made anything he wanted against us last game. I would love to see LaMarcus pick it up on defence, so many times I see him just kinda standing there watching his man shoot with noone guarding him.

I am a fan of the NBA fining referee's for obvious stupid calls and HARD AGRESSIVE DEFENCE FROM START TO FINISH NOT WAITING TO DIG A 10-30 POINT HOLE

Yeah would love to see Myers continue his good play... He will be scary if he continues to not be scared and try to dunk it every chance he gets!!! No more soft layups!!

If Leonard and Claver start being more consistent then we would have a half way decent bench with them and Maynor

Watch for Derrick Williams and Cunningham

I wanna see Myers, Maynor and Claver all score more than 6 points

I'll settle for two out of three siccolo. Claver makes his own opportunities, which is a good thing. Meyers is still too raw and inexperienced to create anything for himself which means that Maynor will be charged with the task of getting these pups in position. Wesley just lights Minnesota up everytime he sees them. Batum plays well against them because he hates Russians. I kid i kid. Pekovic is a handful. JJ cant handle him alone. I got an opportunity to see the Greek kid that we got from NY in the Felton trade. Albeit it was on youtube which tends to show nothing but a players Pros and nothing about his Cons, he still looks better to me than Freeland.

    Looks like you got your wish Siccolo Leonard 12 & 8, Claver 10, 3, 2 a STL & a BLK, and Maynor 7 & 12.

I just had the feeling Maynor was going to show what he bring in this game and Leonard, Claver and Lillard are reaping the rewards Keeping Maynor is a must.

Look at that we found 2/3rds of a bench. Maynor with 12 dimes 7 pts and 4 TO was pretty impressive. Leonard 12 pts and 8 reb looked good and Claver with 10 pts continues to improve. 3 decent bench players is a vast improvement over the zero we had most of the season.

Plus the better Claver plays the less reason to consider putting in Babbitt so that is a bonus.

I mean, seeing Silver Linings Playbook with my GF & father was great (seriously recommend the movie, not chick-flick-ish), but I missed this game.. Yet I watched all the other losses in the 7-game losing streak lol... smh
