Olshey has had less of a chance in his position than did Mike Brown in his.  Far too small a sample size to make that assertion at this juncture.

Addressing this thread...I too am frustrated, as I'm sure all Blazer fans are at this point, in varying degrees.  What concerns me the most is possible LONG TERM ramification(s) resulting from obvious short sightedness.  Mike and Mike said last night during their Phoenix call that Dame has played the third most minutes in the entire league.  Last night, watching Lillard consistently taking body shots, most of which came courtesy of ex-Blazer Jermaine Oneal, got me thinking.  What is worse than losing the season to lack of depth and/or effort to improve the bench by the front office?  How about losing Dame to something like an ACL?  I do believe this team, as it is constructed pre deadline, will continue to suffer injuries to it's starters as the season progresses.  I don't like rolling the Dame dice.

Honestly Cmeese.. I'm just as pissed about Olshey, after his comments a months ago or so. Now we look back at the inevitable fall that this team has went to.. And say where have the answers been? What answer do you see lieing in the future that wouldn't be an option right now? This is all a joke though. Fans will stop going to the home games.

Same as last season. I would rather watch a team of the Cavs put up a fight night in and night out. Their GM made a crazy trade, the team has soo much cap room. And amidst all this, there players aren't playing laxidasical like ours are, which is probably the saddest basketball to watch, IMO.

Cavs from Jan & Feb: 9-12.. Blazers: 10-14 ... Hmm, see one team is improving throughout the year, and not declining. Which would you rather watch?...

thats exactly what I was thinking , with portlands injury luck on draft picks gambeling with dame is totally rediculous. Everyone saying that we have no bench well OMG! how can you expect those tallented guys to show they can do anything when they dont even go in until after half time or when we arent going to win anyway, expected to perform when they have done nothing but sit on the bench most of the game. Just take a look at the way these guys start a game, shovel by shovel they dig a hole that makes the coach feel like he has to keep his best in or were going to loose. Guess what coach if you dont warm everyone up you cant expect everyone to perform to their abilities. I think we have been lucky to have such a tallented bench its just too bad they arent getting used!

Agreed.  They Suck.  How come, even with a new coach and new players, we still suck?  Hell, even the dysfunctional Lakers have a better losing season right now.  Bettcha anything they make the playoffs.

The Lakers will make the playoffs AND be the team nobody wants to play (including OKC).  The Blazers can only watch and wave as they're left behind for good in the standings.  That said, I'm fine with that.

^ I've said to myself 3 weeks ago that the Rockets, Blazers and Jazz had better start winning some games because I had the feeling that LA was gonna make a run and with the passing of Dr.Buss I think that's gonna give them the motivation they need and plus Pau gonna be back soon so it isn't shocking to me that LA pass us up, getting to the playoffs was a good first half goal to have but, reality finally hit us before All star break so the goal now should be stay healthy, finish the season strong and be a better team in April than you were November because that's was Coach Stotts plan for this team this season.

Haha great minds think alike especially with the 8 seed rockets shipping off Patrick Patterson for Thomas Robinson which is better for the future but he is not ready to handle the role as a major piece of a playoff team. And with pretty much every team in the west having a dominant power forward they may start losing games in bunches and they no longer have Tony Douglas a good bench player for them. LA will make it but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I remember when being a Blazer fan was something that gave me pride,now its just no fun. I mean its not the teams fault,they built a awesome team that was made to and should be competing for a world title as we speak, with Greg Oden,Brandon Roy,Lamarcus,Batum and several others but just like everything else in my life nothing seems to go right. Greg Oden hasnt played since nov 09,He was supposed to be a superstar big man,and Brandon roy was considered at top 10 if not top 5 player in the league around 2009,and they were bigtime competitive as recently as 2011.I'm not saying im not proud to be a fan,ive been representing the blazers here In los angeles since the 80's but these last 2 years have been bad,and it seems the trend is to be strong in the beginning of the season and just drop off at the end,almost like some sort've wall,last time we lost to the lakers in december we were 15-15 and went on a winning streak that had us at 20-15, since then we've gone 5-15 and really struggled, I know blazers arent that great,but I dont see how Houston and Utah are that much more talented then we are and I think in the playoffs with no back-to-back games and a shortened roster our team could actually do some damage cause we have one of the best starting 5's in the league. I dont understand why Jamal Crawford left,considering if we just had some punch off the bench I think we could be a real dangerous team.Sucks that thats all we really need to be a good team and we had the best six man in the league on our roster.Why he left,I dont know. But if we lose JJ hickson in the offseason which it sounds like all year then it'll be really embarassing our team is supposed to get better or atleast stay the same not get worse and when you consider all we really need is a decent bench to be a 5-6 seed in the west I dont see why we cant keep hickson and just sign some bench players,get a draft pick and let guys like Batum and Lillard continue to improve cause they arent in their prime yet.The team we have is built for playoff success cause of our excellent starting 5,we just need a decent bench to get us through the marathon that is the regular season and really thats all we really need

yea but then oden and roy had a history of injuries before coming into the league witch should of been taken into consideration during the draft

Chloe completely agree I've said before the bench is far more important than replacing a guy one to two inches taller than JJ.

that team really wouldn't of been a huge contender i mean we picked up camby who was a much more talented defender then oden probably ever would of been and we still couldn't get it done for the simple fact that we were so predictable in the post season
