Trail Blazers (25-24) At Rockets (27-24)

    What To Watch For

    Another Nail-Biter
If you're a Trail Blazers fan, this should come as nothing new, but expect another hard-fought, down-to-the-wire contest in Houston Friday night. Not only are the Trail Blazers 15-8 in games decided by six points or less but in their two meetings this year against the Rockets, both have required overtime to settle the score -- both Portland wins. But what do you need in order to finish close games? Bench production. In their previous game against Dallas, the Blazers went over three minutes to start the fourth quarter without scoring a bucket. The bench was unable to sustain any offense which allowed the Mavs to go on a run to ice the game. The only problem is the Blazer bench hasn't performed that well in two games against the Rockets, combining to score just 16 points in 10 quarters of basketball. Portland needs at least 20 from their second-unit to take the season series from Houston.

    Aldridge All-Star
LaMarcus Aldridge has been dominant this season against the Rockets, putting up a total of 56 points, on 24-48 FG shooting, 17 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 blocks. Houston just has no answer for the L-Train. If they decide to put Patrick Patterson on Aldridge, LA simply backs him down and goes to work in the paint. And if they go with the bigger Omer Asik, LaMarcus takes him outside and shoots over the top of him from the perimeter which also opens up the paint for his teammates. The good news is LA's heating up and ready for another monster night against the Rockets as he's averaging 23 points, on 52.1% shooting, 11.4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.4 blocks over his last five games.

Biggest game to date.  Dallas was a disappointment, but hopefully the team can bring it for 48 minutes.  4-2 on this trip keep the Blazers in the hunt.  I think anything less will mean no post season.  Can't allow Houston to shoot uncontested threes, and Portland cannot get punch drunk shooting threes.

Need a makeup win here, I figured we'd beat Dallas and have a tough time with Houston, hope I was wrong about the Houston part. If only we could get a 10 pt lead and keep it. I expect Wes to bring it on D guarding Hardin. Lock him down and we have a shot at this game.

Lillard owns Houston. Lets hope he can continue his stellar play against them.

Watch the perimeter. Just go crazy out there if the Rockets start hitting 3's. If they pump fake and drive, help out. Clog the paint. Help defense wins you games. GO BLAZERS!

Win one, lose one, win two, lose two. The perfect formula for the 14th pick of the draft.

Disappointing effort last night. I have no idea why Nic is playing and Wes had a terrible performance. Bench players have to be on the court to produce. Claver was having a good game but why his minutes are so limited while Nic is obviously playing in pain is just beyond me. They were making layups like warmup drills. Hope we up our game in the next one, no slight to LaMarcus who had a great game but Wes was a no show.

We could possibly take McCollum with the 10th pick and trade him to the kings for Marcus Thornton. I would personally prefer if we kept McCollum because he can give us scoring off the bench and he will bring that maturity of having been in college...

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.

Special K, aren''t you a cereal? And yes, Batum is expensive, but I think he''s worth it. Why would you take someone who isn''t is as good, just for less money. Then why don''t we take the worst possible player and pay him the least possible amoun...
