    November 2nd, 2012
5:00 PM | Chesapeake Energy Arena | Oklahoma City, OK
Trail Blazers (1-0) At Thunder (0-0)

    What To Watch For

    Bench Production
Coach Stotts used just a nine-man rotation against the Lakers, opting to play Leonard, Smith, Jeffries, and Pavlovic off the bench. And while those four shot efficiently from the field (5-9), they only produced 13 points. And had it not been for Pavlovic's quick 7 points in the 3rd quarter, Portland would not have had any bench points in the second-half. In a one-game scenario, that didn't hurt the Trail Blazers, but over the course of the season, someone is going to have to step up and take ownership of being our gunslinger off the bench. Who will it be in OKC? Sasha's jumper was looking great, so he's my choice, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Luke Babbitt get some run and hoist up a few from downtown.

    Weather The Storm
This will not only be the first away game for the Blazers but it also marks the home-opener for the Thunder. Their fans are going to be rowdy and raucous which OKC will feed off of. It will be very important for Portland to stay in the game early and not be overwhelmed by the situation. If Portland can keep this game within five points at the half, they could sneak into OKC and steal one in the second-half. But who will be the man to keep them in it? Batum? Lillard? Matthews? Aldridge? Only one way to find out...

This is gonna be a tough matchup for sure but it'll be a good test though. The Thunder will be coming off playing the spurs (tonight) so they not might at 100% tomorrow night. They'll be pumped for their home opener, no question. I'm really looking forward to Lillard guarding Westbrook. Defending an older Steve Nash is one thing but Westbrook is on another level. Also, can Batum hold down Durant and not get into foul trouble. I expect a close game. Trail Blazers 103  Thunder 98. Hopefully my prediction comes true.

The Thunder crowd gets loud after the stadium flashes signs that say "YELL LOUDLY". Blazers are gonna have to push trough some serious noise. Bets way to do that is keep hitting baskets and maintain the lead. We just did it to the Lakers, we can do it to OKC.

Big test for D.L. It will be interesting to see how he handles the team in this environment. If he can play his game and stay in control I think it will be a close game.

I think we can beat this team! Spurs did it last night in a defensive fest. I like our matchups and hope we carry our hustle over from the opener. My pick to click tonight is going to be LaMarcus. I think he'll get whatever he wants tonight

I think if Ronnie was healthy, our chances of winning would be MUCH higher. But if he does not play I still think we have a chance.

Batum has a big job tonight guarding Durant. If he can hold him to around 35-40 FG% we can win. LA is going to have a big game I can tell.

The bench will be an even battle hopefully. Sasha needs to lock down Martin and Lamb. No one else shows much a threath .
Wesely should be the other guy who should play very well today. I think if Wes has over 16 points we win.

We need everybody to step up. I agree about Price siccolo,if he's healthy he's a guy who would pester Westbrook. And Westbrook as we know can be taken out of his game. He needs to be attacked the way he attacks. Relentlessly and constantly. Id also like to see Claver defending Durant as well. He's a little taller than Batum, he's athletic and he should be familiar with Durant from the Olympics. He might not be able to stop him but he is another long athletic sf who can give KD different looks.

OKC won, let's give them credit. But I'd like to mention that nobody's in basketball-season shape yet. 36% = tired legs. Hopefully there's some R&R with ice-baths tonight.

The refs were horrible but the bench was worse. Nolan Smith gives me nightmares.

We didn't get calls but we also couldn't throw a basketball in a swimming pool all night. If our shots were falling we'd have had a chance to win that game. JJ Hickson, Lillard and Wes played great. LaMarcus played ok but didn't shoot well at all. His rebounding was great! I thought the bench came in way too soon in this game and Wes was on the bench far too long. We have to have a better option at pt guard than Nolan even if it means sliding Wes to the 1, Nic to the 2 and Claver to the 3..Babbit hit a couple of shots but he just cant' defend the Kevin Durants of the league. I'm amazed we stayed in this game at all. Nic was really off all night, just never got it going.

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

Sanders is 6''11" Cailin he is about 5 pounds lighter than LA so his size should not be an issue.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
