    Gives great insight.

$45M man is still trying to reach his potenital. We have a offensive minded coach and his point production goes up approximately 2 points per game.  I hope he exceeds that.

After a disappointing season for the Portland Trail Blazers in which the team struggled through insubordination, lost long-time coach Nate McMillan and ultimately fell far short of the playoffs, the Blazers are ready to get back on track with a revamped roster featuring two lottery picks and a healthy cluster of young players looking to make their mark.

With such a different roster from the start of the season a year ago, it's difficult to predict how well players will perform in the coming season. However, that is exactly what I will now attempt to do.

Due to the imprecise and tricky nature of predicting statistical production from human beings, I chose to use decimals only to a half-point degree, as the purpose of the article is more to predict general production than to accomplish the unlikely task of perfectly predicting a player's stats.

Furthermore, if a player produces at such a low rate in any statistical category that his average is likely to fall below 0.5 per game, I will not include the stat to spare you the pointless and tiring argument over whether Will Barton will average 0.2 or 0.4 blocks per game.

I think LA will get 24.5 and 10.5
    Nick 17 and 7
    JJ 16 and 12

I think Freeland will start at center but Leonard will be used early and often. In the 2nd and 4th LA will move to center and JJ will get heavy time at the 4. With LA at the 5 it pulls the opposing center out and opens up the lane for JJ to work.

Agree mbmurr1.  Hoping that Nic's point production is closer to 20 ppg however and believe he'll be around 6 rebs pg.  Not too much to ask, given his expanded role and the coinciding minutes...along with, ofcourse the lettuce.

I also believe when JJ and LA are on the floor together, you may see JJ on the block with LA extended opposite side.  Defensively however, doubt we will see LA defending the opposing 5.  That job will be Hickson's.

The article made some nice points about Batum being the greatest benefactor of the new coach and and new pg, letting him get back to a slashing offense which I'm pretty sure is the sentiment echoed on these boards in the post-game threads from last season...

Gotta bump what Mbm was sayin too. I hope LaMarcus is ready to play versatile roles because moving him to the 5 really could change the offensive tempo... that being said, I can't wait to see our other Bigs show what they've got in the middle.

I think Nico's numbers will be higher though. If he can get in the mindset that he and Aldridge are the teams veterans (as well as the main offense), it could help him to take things on his shoulders and run with it (pun intended).

I'm not trying to sound overly optimistic, but I think the team we see this year will be greater than people realize. It's going to have a very different feel to it, not only from our view but from the player's views as well. Not putting a label on where we finish, but I don't think it's unreasonable to believe it will be better than last season.

I'm having a hard time seeing JJ averaging 16 and 12. I'm just not sure he's going to either a) get enough minutes to put up that amount of production or b) get enough touches while playing alongside Aldridge. I envision the Top 4 leading scorers for us this season to be Aldridge, Lillard, Matthews, Batum. As the fifth leading scorer, I could see JJ putting up a max of 12-13 points per night which is pretty respectable, especially if he can pull down 8-9 rebs a game as well.

Wow it just came to me, Nic will have a 3 pt increase in production and a and a $9M increase in Salary.  That is $3m per point, I wish I could make that type of money.

    Here it is real simple.

Damian you are a public figure now, therefore, you have zero privacy. The kid took your photo while walking outside, he didn''t scope you out in the men''s room, not a big deal. Lastly, your name...

Maybe we should go for Pekovic as a restricted free agent and see what Minn will do.

Time will tell. As it is well known round these parts, I do not have much hope for athletic big men. (JJ Hickson doesn''t count).

Okay, I''ll admit it, I like Asik better. I definitely think they will both have very good careers. And finally, someone who agrees, that Ibaka is a  shot blocker, not really a great defender.

Magic have a center and tons of young talent, extra picks and a future with a lot of cap space so yah the MAGIC.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
