i think jerryd bayless is looking more and more comfortable running the offense he seams to have found a happy medium between scorer and distributer. Earlier in summer league he looked like he was foarcing to create to much for his teammates.  now he seems to be created for himself when the oppertunity is there he moves the ball to teammates for open looks at the basket                                                                                                        PLEASE POST YOUR OPINION ON JERRYD BAYLESS'S DEVELOPEMENT!!!

I haven't seen the games so I don't know under what context he's been committing those 6 turnovers a game. I like his game though, and I think he is developing well

http://www.poundingtherock.com/2009/7/19/954169/ats-summer-league-microscope Go to that link. All of you all drunk and high on Jerryd bayless need to sober up quick. He is not the future. The only think in his future is about 4 seasons in the D league and maybe a couple across the pond. Hopefully, management only gives him one more season to prove himself, anything more than that is a waste, a huge waste.

mr. jaspitzer no need to be soo harsh. I agree jerryd is not ready and at this point doesnt look to be the future of the blazers point guard position. But his physical skills and his drive to get better have earned him the rite to have one year of oppertunity to hone his point guard skills. If by the trade deadline he hasnt shown major improvement than you may have to go another direction but the guy is a freak of an athlete and if this guy can get it he will be fun to watch dish dimes and dunk on opposing centers.

I think you're right the guy deserved last year as a grace period at least. When Blake was hurt, he did fairly well. Don't right him off so quick

Not to gang up on you Jasper, but I happen to agree with them. There are a lot of people who are stupid drunk on Rajon Rondo and I remember people were saying about him "I'm not sure he's a true startig PG... he's got great scoring ability... his ball handling skills are just ok.. his ability to find his teammates needs work." Frankly, if Rondo can be a punk and go from that to having a ring, I like my chances with Bayless. His work ethic, competitive nature, and drive to actually improve, make him a great prospect to be even better than Rondo. Now, he's not there yet, don't get me wrong, but he has ALL the tools to get there and he has the right coaching staff and teammates in place to get him there. I actually expect to see him improve a LOT this year, but I also expect the true fruits of his labor to show in two years because it all has to do with experience. Bayless has a tremendous basketball IQ, you can tell in his interviews that he is actually very intelligent, so I know that in the next couple seasons he will go from good to elite.

I respect everybody and their oppinion but i agree ripcityrevival.  He sounds very intelligent in interviews and he has a rare combination of talent and the willingness to work to be the best he can be.  The confedence passion and work ethic is in this guy.  The fans and the blazers need to give him time its all he needs.

Obviously this is all my opinion. I know people are gonna gang up on my and have jerryd's back. It's ok. I know the guy works hard and ya he has likable characteristics. I've seen him. But he is too much a shoot first, pass second kind of guy to ever really be effective. He's not ever gonna be a good 2 guard in the NBA. He's too small, and he doesn't shoot well enough. I don't think he'll make the transition to being a real pg. I know he's trying, he probably could have lit up summer league for 25pts a night if he wasn't trying to distribute. Problem is, he wasn't distributing the ball well enough. He was turning the ball over. He's young and he can get better. He needs time. I hear all that, and i think ya he needs time to get better, but HOW MUCH better? If you all think he can be an elite pg in the NBA in a couple years your absolutely batsh*t crazy. He could probably be decent.... Do we need decent? No, Steve Blake is decent. Jarret Jack is decent. We aren't getting to the NBA Finals with DECENT. We need a real point guard, someone to command the troops. I don't think Bayless has high enough basketball IQ or the awareness for that kind of roll. His physical ability is one thing, that could be limitless for all we know, but his mental ability to lead a team isn't there and I don't think it's something that is just developed. We'll see though. No one hate me because i don't like Bayless, I'm as big a Blazer fan as anyone else on here, and I want nothing more than to see the blazers win a championship and i just don't think that can happen with bayless at the reigns.

Okay, you say all this about Bayless and then say that Jeter needs to be on the roster. You do realize that Jeter played 4 years at the University of Portland, was drafted by the Sacramento Kings three years ago, and has  not played on a single NBA team during the regular season since right? Not to knock him, I hope he makes it too. I would love to have Eugene back in Portland, but what makes you say that Bayless is so far from being a decent PG when this guy has taken three years just to become a sufficient NBA player? Let's be honest about it. I mean Bayless is another two years younger than Jeter and has more NBA experience. In two years of practice how freaking good will Bayless be? Jeter was the same type of player Bayless is except only good enough to play on a West Coast Conference team instead of a Pac 10 team. It has taken him three years of just playing with other guys to get to where he is, Bayless atleast has decent coaches around him. If you see an upside to Pooh Jeter, and you know his story, then you should be drooling over Bayless.

ooops, I forgot Bayless only played one year at college. So he is 4 years younger than Jeter and already a better scorer. Yes, he needs to develop his court vision and his passing skills. So they stick him in a darkened room and have him follow a laser pointer around the room. Then they stick a couple tires on the wall of the gym and have him practice behind the back passes, bounce passes, no look passes, shovel passes, and chest passes while in stride. You have him do that and he will be conditioned and a better point guard within one month, guaranteed.

Rumor has it that portland is taken a look at andre miller.  This rumor has been floaten for awile now but i feel portland is close to maken an offer for him.  I like him i think he is an upgrade from blake he is not a great shooter but we have  enough  good shooters on the team. He is a great distributer and can get shots for his teammates in the rite spots He can penitrate and dish.  Also can run an effective pick and roll and bring veteran leadership to a team that desperately needs it.  If we can get him for 3 years at 6 million a year i think it is worth it. I would rather see a sign and trade blake for miller straight up i dont know if that would work but i know we have the trade exception also too work with.    WHATS THE THOUGHTS ON ANDRE MILLER  IN A BLAZER UNIFORM

Actually I heard New Jersey was already close to signing Andre Miller. I wouldn't care either way. I think I like our options, the PG on the Blazers is going to have an easier job this season anyway just based on the rest of the team they'll be putting on the floor.

I rarely listen to the show. But my buddy told me , a couple weeks ago, that Wheels and his compadres were totally rippin' on Ichiro. Now listen, I love Wheels to death, but they're obviously bored outta their mind to be talking about baseball in the first place. Let alone, making fun of a guy who's hitting .364, and delivered terrific defensive plays throughout the season. Ichiro is greatly helping the Mariners compete for the Division Title. Just because the guy isn't a monster-sized beast like Albert Pujols, doesn't mean you can pick on him Wheels. Watch more baseball my friend. Give up on that WWE stuff, it's gotten really boring since the Crippler went roid-nuts, and killed his entire family. BOOOOO! Boycott the WWE!!

I was actually listening that day and it was mostly Kenny ripping on Iciro. What he was saying is basically that compared to the other guys batting at the same spot in the line-up, Ichiro's effect on the scoreboard is much lower. He has fewer RBI's and fewer scores than other famous batters in the same spot. They also acknowleged that they have seen Ichiro at practice and the guy can hit the ball yard as well as anybody in the league, but he rarely goes yard in games because he swings at (and hits) every pitch wheter good or bad. Really though it was mostly Kenny so give Wheels a break. They're valid points though and I can't blame him. I personally don't give a darn about a team out of Seattle other than I am glad they got Jr. back. It's about time.

Well Kenny is wrong. He's dead wrong. Ichiro makes Spider-Man plays in the outfield. Robbing fools of hits has an immediate effect on the scoreboard, just not in the stat sheets the next morning. I'd highly advise this Kenny fella', to grab some chow (Corndogs are good) and beverages, sit down for a bit, and actually watch Mariners games. Then, when he starts ramblin' on about how good he is at fat-guy softball, Kenny can say how he watched Ichiro not perfoming up to the expectations that he perceives should be in the All-Star game and/or Hall of Fame. And hey, there's a big difference between jackin' shots outta the park when a coach is lobbin' it to ya', and when an MLB slinger is firing the some of the nastiest stuff on the planet.
Ya' know that George Sisler fella'? The hall of famer who's hitting record stood for over 80 years? I saw an old tape of him takin' cuts. Sisler's batting stance and swing was very similar to Ichiro's. Pay attention kids, Ichiro might have done his homework. I'd also like to mention, I'M SORRY WHEELS, I didn't know you weren't the guy being mean to Ichiro. I'm also sorry that you have to work with a close minded stat-freak in this Kenny dude.

Sorry, let me specify that a little better. They admitted that he was an OUTSTANDING defender. He just thought that too much was being made of Ichirio's offensive abilities when although he gets on base a lot, he doesn't make it across home or hit runners in nearly often enough to help the team offensively. They admitted his defense was great though. They were just speaking strictly from the offensive perspective. Not a big deal really.

I like andre miller and all. he does offer a veteran leadership role and he'd be an upgrade at the point, something for bayless to look up to even. But Why are we only looking at him. What about Ramon Sessions? I started noticing him last year and he seems to be a great pg and he's not 33 years old. The bucks probably won't even match the offer sheet because they picked up Brandon Jennings. I've read the clippers, knicks, and even the pg heavy thunder are all looking at sessions. Why aren't we?

Sessions tried out with the Blazers, but didn't make the team last year. Don't ask me why, probably because we're still waiting for Webster.

Does andre miller make this team get to the western conference finals and challenge those hated lakers for a chance at going to the nba finals.  im thinking this team is a far better team i think we will end up number 2 in the western conference rankings at the end of the season with about 56 wins.  Yes not a big win diffrince but this will be a more prepared playoffs team wich means more than the 2 playoff wins we had last year.  I do think we have a good shot at getting to the western confernces championship and if we play the lakers if we can win at home wich we have done in the past few years we could take out the champs.   beat la  beat la  beat la!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with all the moves made in the off season i realy feel think the team feels ready to complete for a championship this year.  but if ima makes this team look for travis or rudy to be dealt before the trade deadline.  yes travis is the more likely canidate but rudi i realy think will be unsignable when that time comes.  he wants to be a starter and that will never happen here.   i say we move him this year if the deal is rite.   im also thinking with collins we may be looking to move priz.  i hope not but it is a similiar situation as rudi.   so dont be suprised if there are a few more moves to be made this season there is just too many good players on this team, thats an awsome felling though its been awile since we have had too much talent       GO BLAZERS!!!!!!!

I agree we that we eventually trade Rudy as he is a star in waiting and is too good to ride the bench.  I'm sure we could get together a hell of a package and get some one of decent value.  I hope Portland comes out firing on on cylinders this season and don't look back.  Go P-Town!

What needs to be done to improve the team do we need to wait til next year when all the players are healthy or do we need to trade to improve this year.  If we need to trade who is tradable and what position do we need to get in return.   List any trade rumors that you here on this page also.       GO BLAZERS!!!!!!

Here rudi goes again talkin about not being happy with his role. As far as im conserned rudi is getting the minutes he deserve maybe more than he deserves. His production has bin horrible sincE comming back from injury.  At this point i would package rudi and our 1st round pick for a top 10 pick atleased that way we get somethin for him.  Trading player for player with rudi doesnt make much sense since he only makes just over a million.  Just wont get much back that way.  They could also sign camby and then add rudi in the trade that may be able to bring back a good piece FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP RUN.      KEEP HIM OR TRADE HIM?
