Match and see how the things will work out on the court , then decide. But for sure DON'T trade right now.

Who's going to want Batum's insane contract if it doesn't work out?

Get a trade done or let him walk.

Just to make it clear Portland can either match or let Batum walk simple as that he can no longer be traded. If we do match Minnesota is out for a whole year as a trade partner for Batum. Plus with Batum's massive trade kicker his contract becomes even more of an albatross at around 13.4 million per. It looks like at this point we either need to match or say good bye cause he deal is pretty much untradeable without eating a big contract in return. 3 first picks are a long time ago cause Batum will never again bring that kind of haul so we better hope he brings it on the court or Olshey struck out with the bases loaded.

This is why I asked for a Pass or a Match. Those are your only choices at this point.

My bad for not paying attention.

In that case, PASS with a capital P.

Minn did not blink and Olshey got handled.

match of course. this is a no brainer.
there are a lot of people bagging on batum lately but batum's a very good player. after the sting of batum "not wanting to be here" wears off, a lot of you are probably not going to feel the same way when he wins games for us next year. that's the difference between batum and a role player, which is all i've seen people propose we get in return.  batum can go out and win a game for us.  he's already done it a few times and he's only 23.  he has insane athletic ability and length. on top of that he is developing in to an elite shooter.  he has a good head on his shoulders and when he finally figures it out, he could be an all NBA defender.  who else are we going to spend the money on and why would we give up batum for that idiot derrick williams? i don't think drafting barnes would have been an upgrade at SF but that would have been the time to replace batum if we were going to do it. i'm glad we didn't.

Batum is a "good" player but he aint Broy good or LA good so signing him for potential all star is what we would be doing. I think this is a 50-50 shot but I think we should take a page from New England Patriots here and let the Wolves take the bloated contract. I know we got Bird rights but Minn obviously did this to hurt our cap space  I say let them have the ghost and let JJ start the 3 position.

There still is hope to a sign and trade, and I believe they are frantically trying to work one out...  All sides need to agree and Minnesota can rescind their offer allowing the Blazers to commit a sign and trade.  I'm happy that the Wolves put out the offer because this was dragging on long enough.  Now every side in this deal has a deadline, and tonight we'll know if we have Batum (most likely) or we have a deal.  After this is worked out, the Blazers and the Wolves can finally move on and find other available free agents to sign.

There can be no sign and trade. We have two options and two options ONLY. Match Minny's offer or let Batum walk for nothing. The deadline is today.

I am not naive enough to believe that the losing streak was no accident just watching Matthews and Batum sit and the seeing LA go off for 30 and 20 then sit pretty much the entire 4th in a  winnable  game shows as much.

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.
