Who starts at Center?

    We don't really have a true center as of now, besides Meyers Leonard. Does he get the start? Does Joel freeland start? Will LA move to the 5 and JJ start? I know there is a lot of time for a player to emerge as a starter, but with the lack of a true center it is hard to determine.

    Lilliard is a PG. Meyers Leonard is a center, and Joel Freeland plays center/or PF, he can play either.

    pLUS i STILL THINK IF NOTHING ELSE PANS OUT CENTER WISE THAT Pryzbilla will be back for this year.

    He can tear it up on rebounds and defense when healthy, And ain't nobody better as a vet to teach young center  about guts, and the mastery of setting a pick. The vanilla Gorilla is one of the best centers at picks when healthy. Though his offense is sub-par, he is still a valuable asset.

    I believe Pryzbilla might be back but with Freeland and Hickson now not a lot of minutes

    I love Przybilla as much as anyone, possibly more. I've said things like Pball's post lots of times...

    But I gotta be honest, after watching him last season, I really do think that signing him would be a waste of valuable court minutes and cap space. Joel will always be one of my favorite big men, but his body can't keep up with his passion anymore!

    There were games last season where he just couldn't move his feet under the basket when they'd pass and cut around him. I agree that he could be a rolemodel for our young bigs, but I'd rather hire a side-coach for them (or ask them to hire a private coach themselves) than waste cap space, a roster spot, and have to take minutes and rotations away from our other players. With a team as young and energetic as the huge majority of our roster, Przybilla would stick out like a sore thumb to other team's offenses, and they'd try to take advantage of that all day.

    Joel The Thrilla Przybilla The Vanilla Gorilla, always gonna love ya man, but unfortunately I think your time in the Black and Red is done, bro. There could still be a role for you in the Organization, and obviously you still mean alot to all us fans and you always will, but not on the court anymore.

    We will sign Przybilla and he will start and be a mentor, then we will bring Leonard and Freeland off the bench or L.A. will move to center and J.J. will come in at Pf. I would like for us to sign Chris Johnson to help at both back-up center and third Pf (2 years 1 million per).

    I'd be cool with having CJ back, but I bet E Will would be pretty hesitant to play with him any more. Plus, I'd rather protect EWill's shoulders :P

    Joel says his knees are feeling great and I only want him to play 20 minutes a game or less, due to a constant rotation of young guys who are either natural centers or Pf's. (Leonard, Freeland, L.A., J.J., Thomas, and Johnson once we sign him)

    Honestly, lets see how leonard does in summer league? depending on how well he does, he could start! i doubt he will, but you never know with portland!

    I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
