Are you dissatisfied with batum's play? I think he and Webster make a good pairing (webster most likely starting in my mind). Also, I am of the opinion that outlaw should be traded.

Another thing, if you believe that free agency is the way to go to get a SF, I believe you're sorely mistaken. Practically anyone that would even be better than batum is off the market.

I agree, I am excited about Martel. I don't think SF is something they need to go after. I hear Martel is looking really good in his workouts. Batum is the perfect compliment to the fast paced secod unit because of his defense and selflessness. Outlaw is a tradeable commodity, but he can also suffice as the second PF. Not stellar, but sufficient. I think SF, next to SG and C, is one of the least neccessary positions to go after. I am excited to see everyone get back to training camp and see what happens. As far as Claver, look him up on YouTube. He is about a year or two from making it over to the NBA, but when he does he will be a great compliment to Rudy and that second unit. He is similar to Cunningham in size and skill set accept he has better ball handling skills, longer range, and some flash and flare. I for one am excited to see him on this Blazer team.

Batum, Webster, Outlaw how many more do we need!! This whole thing with the SF things bugs me. We don't need a SF!! The only thing that I want to point out is Webster needs to EARN his starting role. Batum has. If he wants his starting role he will have to show that he can play like he used to.

Not to take anything away from Batum, but I wouldn't say he exactly EARNED the starting spot last year. Batum became the starter when Outlaw cumbled under the role and the second unit needed a scorer instead of defense which is what Outlaw does. Batum played decent in that role but didn't end up playing many minutes in that actual role on a game to game basis. I think if Webster was clearly the starter before he got injured, he should be the starter now until he loses it. Batum wasnn't stellar last year you guys, he just played a lot better than we expected him to. Martel is still the best option for the first unit for the following comparrisons:
    1) He plays well without the ball. With Brandon controlling the ball in the half-court Martel knows how to read the defense and be in the right spots. Outlaw needs the ball to be effective and Batum is scetchy offensively. Batum can hit open shots, but is inconsistent.

    2) Although he is not as good on defense as Batum, Martel is better than Outlaw.

    3) Martel goes after rebounds. No, that doesn't turn into fast break points for opponents it turns into jumpballs or second chance points. More often than anything else.

4)Martel can attack the rim as good as either Batum or Outalw, he doesn't have the wingspan Batum has or the jumping ability of Outlaw, but he still has the tenacity and atheletic ability to be effective.

From what I hear, Martel has improved on his already lethal shot and is ready to start full workouts. They are taking him along slowly just to be careful. It's what they did with Oden and it seems to be paying dividends.

I don''t trust big men with a history of injury. Ibaka also weighs more than Noel, but you''re right, early days yet, he could bulk up. I am sure, that he will lose some of his speed and athleticism when he does though. Wasn''t that one of his bes...
