Jarrod Rudolph: I'd guess Rockets, Blazers and Warriors will make some type of offer for Dwight. Nets want him, but have nothing to offer until 2013. Twitter

Hate his attitude, but the only way to win in this league is with players like him. I'd be pretty excited if we got him, can't lie.

Dwight Howard and LA would make a monster front court.

they would probably something like 6, 11, and batum.... dont really know what to think. could be beneficial but would be like a waste if he wouldnt sign long term...

The only way Portland would be involved in a Dwight Howard trade woud be in a 3 way trade, Portland being the 3rd team.

Aldridge, Howard, and Batum. That's like a USA Dream Team frontcourt, except with France's best forward.

Howard's ego would never allow him to play here, and his contract would be a massive load for us that would negate all of this opportunity we have to shape our team.

And honestly, I don't think he and LaMarcus would work well together at all. Dwight's got as much drama-baggage on him as Deron does, but Howard lacks the Texan connection.

Not the direction this team needs.

The deal will almost go through, but at the last second drama-prone Howard will go into a blind fury that he can't pick jersey #12 and murder his agent. So, sadly, we can never see Dwight Howard playing in Portland....

The scuttlebutt is Orlando may be on the brink of trading all-world center Dwight Howard. A slew of teams are interested in taking Howard off the Magic’s hands, including Portland and Houston . Portland is in position to offer the Magic their two top 10 draft picks — Nos. 6 and 11 — along with a couple of players. The Rockets also have three top 18 picks — Nos. 14, 16 and 18 — at their disposal. Racine Journal-Times

I definitely see a need for an aggressive all star center, but I don't think that would work out. The Blazers would have to trade players and picks, which doesn't sound very pleasing. Plus I don't think that Howard and LA would work well together, the Blazers can't have two all star big guys.

I think they would pair fine Howard in the low post and LA more from mid-range

Are you people crazy, I would do this trade Any day for our 6 and 11 picks, with Howard you have an all star center. With Draft picks you have maybe's. I think the draft and college players are over rated, I like to see players play in the NBA before I hype them, Howard has hype and is worth way more than  prospects. If we could sign him, you do it.

Absolutely agree kenny. The only way to win in this league is to build up a super power. With Howard and LA, we'd be closing in on that. Add a guy like Nash and you have a contender. Unless we'd rather wait years and years and see how these young guys come along.

I would love to see a Howard/Aldridge front court. The only problem is that I don't see a deal happening that ends with both of them in Blazers jerseys. Orlando would want a Big Baby/LaMarcus front court if they lose Howard in a trade.

PS, if you do get Howard, put Nolan Smith to work, because all the cap space that could go toward a free agent PG is gone, plus you have no lottery picks with which to get a decent PG.

Either way, if there's a way to get Howard here, I can't say I'm 100% against making the deal.

d12 gotta go to a team that already has a strong core of players. orlando surrounds him with 3 point shooters. they live and die by the 3

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
