Trade Idea for the 11th pick

    Blazers give:



    11th pick, Nolan Smith, Shawne Willams, (maybe future pick,2nd round)



    Hornets Give:



    10th pick, Jarret Jack OR Carl Landry(but he's going to be a free agent)



    I know it's only up one pick, but this may give the blazers better footing to pick up Lillard later in the lottery. At first I was thinking Landry, but he's a FA(could negotiate a contract before trade). I think the blazers could work with Landry and Hickson. With one of them being a backup center. They both are smaller for the center position,but they have both proven they can handle themselves down low. They both also give us a lot of depth to help out LA!

    Teams can't sign-and-trade free agents before the draft. The FA period doesn't begin until July 1st. So Landry is out. I wouldn't take Jarrett Jack back, especially if the purpose was getting Lillard. There's still a risk of Lillard going 7-9, and I wouldn't give up Nolan to move up one spot in the draft. Shawne Williams is essentially a contract that costs a team money, so adding him to the deal would actually make it less attractive to New Orleans.

    I figured that was the case with landry. So only players with options like jamal can be included in a trade come draft day? (I say that because of the recent news of jamals option deadline being extended for that purpose)

    Yes. Jamal is on the roster until he opts out. Now that his deadline is the 29th, he could actually be traded to another team on draft day, and opt out of the contract with his new team the very next day. I don't know how attractive that make him as a trade option to move up, though.

    Other free agents' contracts, like Landry's, had no option on them at the end of the season. That makes them restricted or unrestricted free agents and means that no signings or deals with them can happen until the Free Agency period begins. It's all very confusing, and there may be a couple details I'm missing as well. But basically, if someone is a free agent, they can't be signed or traded on or before draft day.

    It would be nice to get the 7th pick from golden state. Wasn't golden state one of the teams interested in J.Crawford last season? Maybe they would consider Crawford, 11th & 41st pick, and cash for the 7th pick. I'm really hoping we could get H.Barnes and D.Lillird.

    If we are going to trade for the #7 pick I think maybe this combination would work.  #11 plus S. Williams plus #40 plus cash. This might not still be enough.

    Golden State is trying to get rid of picks not add them so I am not sure we have enough pieces for them.

    I wouldn't want Jarret Jack back. However, I would like to acquire Greivis Vasquez he performed great while starting last season and he has a lot of size for a PG.

    Vasquez is nice. Went to Maryland i think.He's definitely not afraid of taking big shots.
