The best starting lineup for the blazers is.

    Felton

    Mathews

    Camby

    Batum

    Aldridge

    First guy off the bench

    Wallace at SF\PF

Its hard to bench a 10mill guy, but the balance of the starters is off.  The bench needs to be anchored by a vetran defensive scorer (wallace) supplimented by a SG (crawford) and a PG that doesnt need to score (Smith).  Crawfod needs to evolve his game into a standup jump shooter.  He's not that quick and doesnt finish around the basket very well, but he can nock down any jumper if he gets his feet under him. The bench needs to be short, even if you play back to back games.  This long bench, play alot of guys thing only works of you have a deep bench.  We have guys (babbit, Johnson) that just cant get it together, some reason they cant grasp ofensive/defensive rotation.

The only guys that bring it every night are Aldridge and C Smith. Craig Smith the best bech player we have and he doesnt get a solid rotation spot.

Matthews couldn't hit a Star Destroyer with a Lightsaber. Why you think Batum took his starting spot?

So, if you put Mathews on the bench, you effectively decrease the scoring of the second unit.  Balance and a rotation that is solid.

Nobody can score.  The Blazers bench it outscoring the starters lately.  Putting the two worst players on the team back in the starting lineup and benching Wallace does absolutely nothing for this team.  Particularly when GW's shooting percentage, rebounding, defense, and effort is better than Batum.  The Blazers are losing because they are getting destroyed in the first half and having to fight back from double digit deficits every single night.  Putting in an inferior starting lineup and benching a guy who is clearly a better player does nothing to help that situation.

DHawes shared a report from Chad Ford yesterday on the trade thread where Ford alleged that a mutiny had quietly been orchestrated by Crawford and Felton after getting chewed out following a film session.  Should there be any truth to this, and recent efforts suggest there is, this news goes a LONG ways in helping us make sense of what is happening.  I'm old school, and given absolute power and/or control in Nate's position, I would sit all malcontents no matter WHO they are.  Remember though, the players in this league have that absolute power (see Mike Brown, D'Antoni, etc).  Very unfortunate and why I would have rather not had a season, in favor of a complete league restructure.  The integrity of this great game has suffered enough.  Nowhere else in our society do you get paid to do a job, whether you decide to do that job or not.  Ridiculous.

    since the trade

Mathews average 15 and shooting better than 50% as a starter

Nolan Smith average 12 and shooting better than 50%

Felton averaging 17 and 6 and shooting better than 50%

Jamal Still needs to take smarter shots.

Its not rocket science.  To get balanced scoring you have to have balanced ego's

BDawg- "Nowhere else in our society do you get paid to do a job, whether you decide to do that job or not"

...Other than athletes, the only examples I can think of where your production or results has no influence on your profit or benefits from the job are for politicians, lobbyists, and lawyers. Of course, all 3 of those are arguably some of the most corrupt job fields in the country, and they probably average an even LARGER paycheck than professional athletes.

well mccollum looks cool but lillard was a rarity when it comes to small school ballers being successful I don''t see 2 small school ballers 2 drafts in a row especially one comeing from a weak draft being anything spectacular

Potential out weighs them all are you serious OJ Mayo has more potential than Batum, then you add in what Landry and Barnes provide plus whatever 2 first round picks offer and it is not even close.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.
