This just came in from the NBA offices:
With six seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, the Blazers' LaMarcus Aldridge was called for goaltending on a shot attempted by the Thunder's Kevin Durant (shown below). With the benefit of slow motion replay following the game, it has been determined that Aldridge made contact with the ball just before the ball hit the backboard. Therefore, this should have been ruled a good block and goaltending was the incorrect call. (As determined by the NBA's Competition Committee, referees may not use instant replay on goaltending calls.)

Maybe that will shut Durant up with his "I knew he was coming so I put it up fast, it hit the glass first" nonsense. He is not good at giving credit where credit is due...what a child.

This is why replay must be implemented for goaltending calls in the final 2 mins of regulation and overtime of all NBA games.... I hope the NBA takes notice and tries to help prevent this from happening again.

Scott Foster was a good friend of Tim Donaghy the disgraced NBA ref who bet on games. I wonder how much he bet on OKC win in OT?

Just heard on 750 the game, that Wheeler spoke to Scott Foster on the loading dock after the game last night and Foster was arragent to Wheels and said to him, "don't you know the rule?" Yes, Wheels said, I know the rule, but you were wrong . Foster started to come towards Wheels and Wheels said, I don't want to be fined--get away from me!

Sounds like he knew he blew the call. Doesn't stern instituate Instant Replay in the final two minutes of the game on gola tending calls.  (I agree with Jess Ogan on this).  Plus why doesn't Stern have the balls to fine referee's who blow calls and also fine him for what happened with Wheels after the game, plus never officiate a game in portland again

The refs have been having their way with us since the whole Tim Donaghy controversy about the referees throwing games for the Lakers in the playoffs.

Good the NBA acknowledge the call. Does that change a thing - NO. All major sports are going more transparent in their dealings on fines, punishment, etc. YET the NBA is the one stuck in the 50's. Lead by the most arrogant leader in major sports. It's time to institute, at minimum, a rule were the coach is allowd 1 challenge within the last 2 minutes of a game (regulation and overtime). It's time for the owners to now stand up and say all this is affecting their product and it's time to fire the ring leader. Owners bring in a new era. It's time.
Lastly, if what was stated above on 750, then I hope the Trail Blazers organization pursue some legal recourse against Foster.

Mr. Allen please let your voice be heard.

Some people got angry and some people feel better after knowing that it was a bad call...I learned something from it though...I learned that NBA is not professional enough as they have known the call was not right and the Blazers should've won...Besides, the Blazers should be on the 4th rank while because of that we stay on the 7th rank...If the NBA is professional enough, they would know that apologize is not the only thing they should do...

Maybe Foster can go to Miami for Wrestlemania and get his butt kicked by the Rock and Cena.  FYI refs have been favoring the Lakers for years.  Remember all the bad calls in 2000 when Portland belw a 17 point lead in the forth quarter losing the series 4 to 3.  Wait a minute, wasn't Foster a ref in that game as well?

    Yeah... the Blazers won.

But, seriously, I think this is good. The NBA isn't just releasing this as some kind of worthless attempt at consoling fans. This is one of the rare times that the NBA is officially (and apparently publicly) acknowledging an inadequacy in the officiating. Given that it was a crucial call, nationally televised, which literally and directly changed the outcome of a game. The NBA must (and I'm guessing will) take steps to correct this kind of glaring problem.

In direct answer to your question. No. The Blazers still tally a loss, and OKC still tallies a win. But that's a very near-sighted and pouting way to view it. Imagine the NBA takes steps to improve the officiating before the playoffs. What if the Blazers knock out OKC in a playoff series that's called fairly? At that point, I would have to say this particular release was a VERY big deal.

    Losers make excuses
    Winners get results...

I am FAR more concerned with the OTHER 47 minutes (and change) of actual game time prior to the blown call.  I agree with KD and loved his quote (the censored one).
