Last year LeBron James told anyone who could listen that LaMarcus should have made the All-Star team, even went as far as calling Aldridge "the biggest snub in All-Star history."

So it should come as no surprise that during the second half of Portland's game against the Nuggets (which was nationally televised on NBATV mind you), in which LaMarcus was in the midst of a dominating performance (25 points, 13-18 shooting, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block), that James took the time out to show his appreciation.

So why is this a big deal? Well for one, like him or not, LeBron is the most widely recognized player in the NBA today. Two, he's arguably the best player currently lacing 'em up and if he love your game, then you know you're doing something right. And three, the man has nearly 3.5 million followers on Twitter who ALL saw that Tweet. Fans in the Rose City complain (and rightfully so) about the lack of national exposure for our players. Just this past Thursday the Western Conference All-Star starters were announced and four of the five played in Los Angeles. Blake Griffin is a great player, but personally, Aldridge is better. But it was the fan's vote and LA finished sixth. The more positive exposure for Rip City the better. A few more Tweets like that from his peers and our own LA may just become a household name throughout the other 48 states.

LeBron knows he can't win the Olympic Gold medal by himself. He's doing some early recruiting to get some extra punch on Team USA.

I am definitely not a Lebron fan. Never have been and probably never will be. But I honestly can appreciate the recognition he is giving to PDX and L. Aldridge. Thanks LB.

I'm not a fan of Lebron, glad he showed respect. I prefer this man's opinion.

"I know there's one guy that posts up in the same way that I used to," Abdul-Jabbar said. "He plays for Portland:"

Hopefully the rest of the NBA's elite take notice as well. We will have a crap-ton of cap space this summer and I want players like Eric Gordon, Deron Williams, and Dwight Howard WANTING to come to Portland because they want to play with LaMarcus.

Damn, I missed that tweet.  Still, very nice to see the recognition for LaMarcus.  He does deserve it.  I'm sure other players would give that recognition as well.

BTW, for those that didn't know,  LeBron and Wade both gave shoutouts to Roy when he retired on Twitter.  So did many more players.

I would love for Howard to want to come here, unfortunately our city is viewed as undesirable until a player gets traded here and finds out how much they love the city.

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
