I am not an expert on reading body language but Nic looks a little different this year. Is he just putting on his game face or is he frustrated?

ANyways, I am sure he is just committed toward greatness and tough on himself. I like seeing Gerald and Nic play together anyways, it's pretty cool.

Batum is only happy when he wins. Of course he's going to look grumpy when his team is down by almost 30 points. Remember when the refs called that offensive foul out at halfcourt against either the Lakers or Thunder, (I can't remember) and Batum gave a solid fist of heck ya'? See that's a happy Batum, you won't see happy Batum if he's losing.

I think it's not because he is unhappy or what. The problem is, he hasn't got the chance to show others that he is qualified as a great player. He might missed lots of shooting in couple games but we need to trust him with the ball sometimes. Giving him more minute to play might help him know that we are count on him since he was kind of frustrated to be great just like Gerald Wallace. We have to believe in him that he can do it.

Batum just came from the euro league where he readjusted to being the all star. Give him a bit to change up his game. It's harder to come off the bench and play the tempo the game gives you. Rather then starting and being a part of the game tempo.

I think he looks a bit unhappy and frustrated. He is not getting enough playing time to show exactly what he can do nor is he receiving enough plays ran for him when he is on the floor, therefore he has to rush sometimes and manufacture hi's own shots which ends up being a not so good shot selection.
Most of times he is on the floor he has to play with JC running the point and we all know JC is a score first, score second, score third then maybe pass (maybe being the keyword here), this does not affect the other guys, just Battum, because the other guys are new comers or are there for defense purposes only, but Nic is used to be a starter and have plays ran for him.

He's getting the same minutes he's gotten for his entire NBA career.  Listen, he had his crack at it and lost the starting position.  He's not a guy your can run the offense through.  He and Crawford are taking about the same number of shots in the same MPG.  They are both missing, and they are both coming off the bench.  Please don't blame Batum's .37 shooting on JC LOL.  If the difference between them is JC is able to get his shots and Batum isn't, I say keep shooting JC.

Let's also stop using the "he just came out of the French league" excuse.  This is his 6TH season as a professional basketball player and 4th with the Blazers.  If Batum came off the bench lights out every night he would be starting.  He doesn't, so he's not.  I hope he's not unhappy because it just makes him more likely to be traded.....He should be thrilled to be coming off the bench on the best team in the West.  The organization and the fans love him.  If he's unhappy, he needs to man up.

WTF do you call Tim Duncan. The dude is arguably the best PF in NBA history, I guess I did not realize that all this time he was making first team all NBA ballots that he was not a superstar.

The rules limit the effectiveness of defenders these days Blaser. Lebron would win defensive player of the year every year if he could hand check people and hold on to his man like the old days.

Wow some serious high hopes for JJ there.

@Cailin Isn''t a little ironic that the Heat are on pace to win a second straight NBA title despite being the worst rebounding team statistically in the NBA this season.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.

Considering that is the only aggressive thing he has ever done in his life, it is not likely he will do anything. Maybe if he did I might respect him more. But its alright enjoy your higher ticket prices to pay this joker 11 million a year.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.
