This trade hit me like a ton of bricks. How sick would our team be with SF/PF Josh Smith! We can package up Roy and batum for Josh Smith+ a low salary player (maybe Center H. Armstrong in a sign and trade) Josh smith is going to get traded. In this case roy won't have to be option 1 in ATL, and the hawks get a pretty good replacement at SF, and back up PG/SG. Our starting line up would possibly be Felton, wallace, J. smith, LA, and oden! Or sit one of the SF and play matthews.. This makes our team SO VERSATILE! Why wouldn't ATL want to do this trade!? Please someone tell me if there is anything bad here

if this did go ahead oden would be backup center/6th man because we´d wanna play crash at the 3 and smith will play 4 and aldridge 5, that would make one of the most dangerous frontcourts in the league and wes will play 2 along with felton 1, but it is highly doubtful because we love brandon roy and would never give him up.
    Starting lineup (if it happened)
    PG: Felton/Smith
    SG: Wesley/Williams
    SF:Crash/Jsmoove
    PF:Jsmoove/Aldridge/Camby
    C:Aldridge/Oden/Camby

    What about this?

ATL gets a veteran with an expiring contract and a bunch of potential guys.

Ya i don't hate the trade, but are really hoping that oden can stay healthy the whole season?? and will we be fine with aldridge playing almost all the C position.. Then we wouldn't have C. Johnson either.. but still not a bad trade to keep batum and roy.. I just thought ATL would be more willing to the other one

    Or this..
We retain roy, and get a C to fill some of the back up time.. Honestly Batum wouldn't play much with Smith and Wallace here.

hahaha we will try this again... this trade  If the link doesn't work it sends Batum, Camby, and babbit for J. smith and Pachulia

Camby,Babbitt,Armon,& Barron and a pick with cash considerations for J Smith. We would absolutely wear L.A. down if he is primarily our pivot.

LA is not a center. Its as simple as that. a deal for another possible starting 3 or 4 would only do damage to our team.

when thinking about a trade you have to also consider chemistry. getting smith would most likely   destroy this team

We are not the Lakers. We are not allowed to obliterate the salary cap. But hey, we got plenty of talented guys, and I'm more then content with our current lineup. Definately excited for this upcoming season.

Obviously you didn't look up the cap situtation before u wrote this. Roy's salary for next year is roughly 15mil, Batum is 2.15mil and we are trading for josh smith at 12.4mil+ two salary guys at like 800k per... SO we give up roughly 17.2mil and only get back 14mil!! We shed 3 million in salary!! The other trades involving smith would still not affect our cap..

dont you look through our rotation? first off IF oden is healthy, aldridge will be playing power forward and that means smoove or crash will have to be  a backup to the power forward position as well as small forward, next if oden is unhealthy we wont have any center and aldridge performed less when he was at center, thirdly j smoove is a good player but we´d have no center or backup from this trade (pachulia as a starter?? no way) and forth batuum looks to be improving and i reckon he can hit 15 this season

This trade does send roy away but it brings in great talent aswell. I just want the blazers to be a BEAST team with no worries about our bigs for years to come!!

It would give us a beast team, i like this trade but like i said we will have trouble finding minutes for crash and j smoove, bellinelli can easily backup wes wes, but im still not secure on a center backup (if oden gets injured again)

i think okafor can be a solid C with how strong the rest of our team is. I know the rotation for josh smith will be a change, but what i figured is we have a 3 man rotation for SF and PF. That way we always have at least 2 of LA, Smith, or GW. and we are at least 2 deep at every other position.

Never did like smith, he has a temper, and i remember him chest bumpin with some guys a while ago...
but with the acquisition of Gerald Wallace, what would be the point?

If Smith plays exactly in the same spot Batum is in, then Nate is just going to tell him to "Chill and lay around the perimeter".
Smith can hit a 3, but not as often as Batum. Batum is faster, maybe not as tough, but this has got to be his make it or break it season for this team.

well thats just it. He can't shoot 3 and thats his one big draw back, but it is like having 2 gerald wallace on our team, he's just stronger! He can play the 4 to relieve LA. We would have an explosive and long 3 man rotation at SF and PF. In my opinion batum can't really play the 4 effectively. Ya he has a rough side but i don't think that is entirely a bad thing!? He is a beast! and beasts get mad! he will never be content with sitting on the perimeter. Him vs. batum.. Smith will get more rebs, steals, points, possibly assists, 2nd chance points, and better FG%... Batum would get us more 3pts, more FT's, and less fouls. I just feel he would have more of a positive impact than batum, and be a player that can be a game changer.

... he plays PF now for the hawks.. he plays pretty damn good at it too.. and when u have other bigs out there like oden, camby or aldridge, he will be more than just
    good at the position
