while it's the off season, and next year's season status is unclear at the moment, are you watching any other sports or games? for me, it's mostly Timbers soccer and the recently completed world cup. i enjoy a good baseball game in person, but not so much on television.

so there it is, what's occupying your sports-themed time this summer?

I'm probably not the sports nut that Kassandra is, so I don't watch a lot of sports on TV in general. I've been able this summer to spend a lot of time at the beach where I've been surfing and watching a lot of other people on the water. I've also seen several beach volleyball games.
I am a fan of the man who inspired me to love the blazers. you may know him. he goes by the name of Brandon Roy.

    definitely envious of that.

Baseball, baseball and more baseball! The only problem is my team, the Braves, are on TV maybe once every two weeks. But I was able to go up to Seattle and watch a couple of their games against the M's which was amazing. Also, September 3rd is right around the corner and that means the start of college football season! And I can't wait right now to see what the Ducks have in store. I have watched a couple of the Timbers games, just haven't quite been bitten by that bug yet.

Dustin, the only thing the ducks have in store for themselves this year is a nov. 12 loss at stanford stadium. that's not even so much trash talking as it is stating a fact!

Oh Kass, have you not realized? The Ducks own the PAC... =D Stanford is a good team and will be a threat.. but all in all, you need to have a much better second half than first and I'm not sure if Stanford will be able to keep up with the Quack Attack! Remember that whole fastest team in college football and the fact that Oregon wears the D down? Yeah.. that's still the Ducks.

I hope I'm able to make that road trip again to Palo Alto for the game. Gameday could even be there if everything goes accordingly! Stanford is easily the hardest game on Oregon's schedule, but I wonder how the Cardinal will react to playing without Coach Harbaugh.

Prophet, you must stop living in the past. of course, if you want to talk about past games, you could mention in 2001 how stanford gave the ducks their only loss and cost them a chance to play for the national championship. okies anyway; last year's second half will not repeat itself in palo alto. most of our players are back, including our quarterback who is widely considered the best in college football. the stadium will be loud and rockin'. there's really no need for me to go on here; trash talkin' a team who just barely squeaked past Cal last year. so yeah, stick that in your oven!

Dustin, Coach was the biggest loss for us, and Owen Marecic is the next biggest. i had wished Coach had stayed with us longer (at least three more years!), but he had to take his shot at the nfl now. i'm interested to see how the team responds as well, though i'm not all that worried about it.

Oregon and Stanford will finish 1-2 in the North division. I think the winner of that game will play in the National Championship. Oregon has to have the slight edge as they took over the game last year and they have their full coaching staff in tact.

you may have a point about the coaching staff (that's my biggest concern this season). however, i have to say Stanford has the edge this season because this year's game is in Palo Alto. Oregon lost some very key defense players and Luck is going to have a field day.

I'm trying to get into the Timbers. I really watched with close attention both Seattle games and recently had the Toronto match on, but seing them blow a 2 goal lead after halftime, at home, to the worst team in the East is heart-breaking...oh wait, they should fit right in! (I kid!)

I am a soccer fan, even more noe since we have the Timbers in the MLS, SO i get to watch those games although so far this year the road games are embarresing and they had just fired coach Spencer. I also enjoy watching a little racing like NASCAR also... Not much of a baseball fan so that sucks for me. Golf is also i guess ok to watch at times... but at the end of the day... the summertime sucks as far as sports go!!!
